Field Of Dreams Therapeutic Riding Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization offering recreational and therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults with disabilities. Field of Dreams is affiliated with PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsmanship International) and EAGALA. At Field Of Dreams we offer activities to address the physical, mental and social ch

allanges facing our clients. Our riders come to us with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, stroke, autism and a wide range of learning disorders. For indivuals with impaired mobility, horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves their bodies in a maner similar to a human walking gait. In addition to the physical benefits of riding a horse, our lessions are designed to help riders mentally focus--to practice using their concentration in ways that very often do not come natural to them. Because our horses are the partners providing them the opportunity to experience the benefits of riding, we also emphasize horsemanship skills with every student. Volunteers are the key to safe riding for our students! In addition to an instructor
many riders require THREE volunteers--
one to lead the horse and two people to "side walk". Without our wonderful volunteers, this type of program would not be possible. Field of Dreams will serve Carteret and sourrounding counties
