❄️ Even though snowstorms and record lows did their best to hold us back, we still finished January strong 💪 with 6 (count ‘em 6️⃣!) cat adoptions!!! 💖💖💖 Including some feline friends who had been with us for months!! We are so happy for our Easter, Sage, Miniballen, and Aspen ( 📸 pictured here, respectively!) and our Calvin and Drainpipe who are not pictured and who most definitely did not cooperate for their happy tails photo opps!! ❄️

💖 We’d also be remiss if we did not mention that within literal days of posting our plea 🙏 for new cat beds, you all made sure that we did not go without!!! Thanks to our pawesome guardian angels 😇 at Greater Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning and past adopters Denise and Tom (Mr. Rogers/nka Harley’s parents), we have 5 new Kuranda beds just waiting to be put together!!!!! So if you have a rubber mallet and an unrelenting urge to lose your mind over lining up screws, holes, and bolts- you know where to find us 👀!! 💖

✨A shelter-wide New Year’s resolution has been to get more quality sleep 💤- something crucial for these little animals and their human caretakers alike. However, some of the cat trees and beds on which this restful slumber is supposed to occur have seen betterrrrrrrrr days (👀 peep the pic- one cat tree can only take so much!), and unfortunately, quality beds can be quite the expense and bit beyond our reach as we try to ride through January on the donation fumes of holidays 🚗. Frozie and Tyrion are still trying to re-adjust to the shelter life after riding out the recent winter storm(s) at one of our lovely and gracious staff member’s home 🏠, and it’s been ruff 🦴. These sweet seniors got to lounge about in the lap of luxury for nearly a week, and remembered for a moment how wonderful it is to snuggle up with humans (maybe in their beds 🛏️ or on the couch🤫, we aren’t saying anything!) and hide under the kitchen table definitely not begging for any scraps 🙏!

While these two get loved on and snuggled here at the shelter ❤️, it’s still no place for senior puppies- and you can just feel their disappointment on winding up in a place they should never be to begin with.

Please help to spread the word about these two special seniors who want nothing more than a place and people to call their own.

❄️☃️This weather is for the birds 🐦, but seriously, we’ve been seeing cool feathered friends around the shelter lately, and Bitterballen is not complaining. Aspen, however, could do without the tail flicks to the face.❄️☃️🔈volume up for optimum cat chittering experience 🔈

✨Just a little Moonpie🌙 here to say ‘Happy New Year’!✨

While to some our numbers might not seem like much, for us, 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣ was a big year of big wins made possible with your support!

✨we had 57 adoptions-57 little animals’ lives changed for the better (and who knows how many human lives figure in there?!)
✨took in 67 new animals and were able to provide them with crucial vet care
✨started and fostered amazing partnerships/friendships with some awesome people and organizations like Catalyst Pet Natural Litter, Darkness Brewing, Personality Pet Portraits, Allie's Walkabout, Sports Of All Sorts, Paddy’s on Main , Hollywood Feed- Crestview Hills, Greater Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning, and Magnified Giving, - just to name a few!
✨grew from a staff of 3 to a staff of 8 - the biggest (and best, obviously! 😚) we’ve ever had!

🥂 Here’s to all this and more in 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣- and thanks to everyone who made it happen!! 🥂

We are closed today, tomorrow, and next week on the 31st and 1st for some much needed and deserved downtime. ✨Do you think someone was excited to go home?! 🏡 It’s our first December Feel Good Friday of 2024 and things are l👀king good !!!✨

❤️💚Baby Dog’s lovely newlywed pawrents are starting the holiday season off with a wedding and adopting the most precious little shelter baby- and we are here for all of it!! 🍾 💚❤️

🎁 We can only hope that for the rest of our shelter babies, especially bonded senior siblings Frozie and Tyrion💔, that the pawlidays will bring them the home they deserve and more! 🎁
