🍂 Join us this weekend at Carolina Home and Garden’s Fall Festival for a special 2-day Adopt-A-Thon!

On Saturday, November 2nd, from 12:00pm - 4:00pm, and Sunday, November 3rd, from 12:00pm - 3:00pm, you’ll be able to meet some of Toby’s (pictured here) furry friends from Carteret County Humane Society. Although Toby won’t be there in person (big crowds can be overwhelming for him) you’re welcome to stop by the shelter during normal business hours to meet this handsome guy in person.

BANJO ~ our Treeing Walker Coonhound who’s ready to strike a chord in your heart!

✨ Banjo is one of our shelters SHINING STARS featured on the BG Digital Billboard in Morehead City!
He’s a 7-year-old SWEET boy with boundless energy and a heart full of love. He does well with kids and other dogs ~ making him the perfect addition to an active family. Up-to-date on shots, microchipped & neutered ~ Banjo is ready to settle into his forever home.

Banjo is loyal to a fault ~ & once he gives you his heart, you’ll have a friend for life. His zest for life is infectious & he’s looking for a family or person who will match his enthusiasm & love him unconditionally. Banjo is always up for a good hike! As a matter of fact, an amazing volunteer recently treated Banjo to a beach day, and he had an absolute blast splashing in the ocean, meeting friendly kids, folks, and fellow pups! After a full day, he’s just as happy to curl up on the couch for some cozy downtime.

Have you seen the BG Digital Billboard in Morehead City yet? It’s showcasing several of our shelter pups ~ including this big, handsome boy!

KEON is his name and many may ask ~ what’s in a name? Well, let us break it down for you. 🐕 🐾

K ~ Kind-hearted & full of cuddles
E ~ Eager to please & always excited to see you
O ~ Outgoing & adventurous on every walk
N ~ Naturally loving and a gentle giant

Keon’s got that perfect mix of goofiness & sweetness that makes him a total love bug once he’s out of his kennel. A dedicated volunteer & board member shared that he likes to cuddle, & is sweet & affectionate. As well, he will automatically shake if you put your hand out, which shows just how eager he is to connect with people. ♥️

As a 4-year old Great Dane mix, Keon is in his prime & ready to settle into a loving, forever home. He’s been with us since June 28, 2024 ~ after coming in as a stray. As we may not know his full history ~ we do know he is nothing short of charming & affectionate ~ ready for adventures or just hanging out.

This is Troubles … and don’t let his name fool you! He earned it because he gave his mama a bit of trouble during birth! 😉

Troubles is a GORGEOUS 1.5-year-old Pitty/Chow mix who has patiently been waiting for his forever home at Carteret County Humane Society. Troubles and his brother came to the shelter in February when their owner had too many animals to care for. His brother has already been adopted (yay!), and now it’s Troubles’ turn to find his perfect family!

In these photos, Troubles is with one of his absolute favorites, Raven, one of our dedicated and awesome staff members! These two share a special bond, as you can see in the photos. Raven has treated him to several “Doggy Day Outs”, and he absolutely loved every minute! These outings are a great way to learn more about a dog outside of the shelter, and they’ve helped us discover so much about this special boy! For instance, Troubles loves a good mud puddle but isn’t a fan of water, big crowds, or loud noises. He enjoys being around other dogs, however ~ he can be a bit socially awkward, so he would do best with a calm, laid-back dog companion.

Neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and full of gorgeousness, Troubles is ready to thrive in a home that will give him the love and security he deserves.

🌼💕 This is Daisy! 💕🌼

Daisy is a 9-year-old girl who’s been in a loving foster home for the past couple of months, and her foster mom says she’s absolutely ready for her forever home!

This SWEET girl came to the shelter on April 24 with her brother, who has since found his forever home. Now ~ it’s Daisy’s turn! Her foster mom says she’s house trained, loves going for leisurely walks, exploring, and is the ultimate couch cuddler. Gives great kisses too! Daisy has done well on long car rides and around children. Daisy has interacted with other dogs and gets along well with them. She has also been tested with cats and does well with them too.

Daisy’s calm and loving nature would make her the perfect companion for someone retired or looking for a relaxed, loyal friend to share life with. She’s spayed, microchipped, and current on her shots ~ ready to bring so much love and happiness to her forever home. 💕
