Thank goodness I was walking this naturally sweet guy, Dylan, when when the dogwalker’s nightmare occurred- three off leash dogs running right to us.

I hid how nervous that made me, as this big dog is relatively unsocialized, and tried to make it seem like something very happy, positive, and exciting was happening, that those dogs were friends coming to greet us!! …as there was no way I could get him away in time and I didn’t want my own behavior sparking him into acting defensive.

Many dogs wouldn’t react so well. If you’re walking your dogs off leash, & there is any question as to their recall, try to do it somewhere you won’t run into other people and dogs. Helps keep everyone safe. Even if your dogs are friendly, there’s no reason expect every other dog to be.
