TW: animal sickness and death
This morning, my attention was brought to a post of a 3 week old bengal kitten needing foster. The mom had eaten the rest of the litter and this was the only survivor. This kitten looked very ill and would need medical attention.
If a carnivorous animal has sick young, they instinctually eat that young so predators don’t smell it and compromise the safety of the rest of the littler.
A lot of hybrid young are born this way when mother hybrids are over bred. They are no longer able to give birth to healthy kittens. This is part of the sad reality of the hybrid cat crisis.
When you buy from a breeder, you’re supporting the exploitation of these cats. With so many hybrid cats needing rehoming, the best thing to do is to adopt. You can do this by searching up bengal and Savannah cat groups here on social media. They post many of these cats needing homes and have links to their foster and adoption applications.
Please consider rescue rather than buying from the breeder.
