Shoutout to Bryce Jackson’s Farrier Services for coming out and getting a couple horses done for us. He put in a lot of work on this mare who was severely overgrown after who knows how long between trims! Her hooves were rock solid and long as could be, but he put in time and effort to get her looking much better, and in a few trims she should be all back to normal. He was also patient with her when she got tired during the trim.

Handsome Skip enjoyed a nice cooling bath this morning! Watch out for the excessive heat warning today with a high temperature of 97° 🌡

DID YOU KNOW? The essential cooling effects of sweat or cold water on a horse are immediately counteracted by scraping?
The FEI reccomends the following three steps:

1. Letting your horse catch his breath at a walk after a workout.
2. Hosing them down with tap or cold water until they no longer radiate heat.
3. After returning to normal temperature, wiping or scraping off excess water.

Of course, be sure to head to the shade and hydrate 💧 hydrate 💧 hydrate 💧 today!!!
