Newton Animal Hospital

Newton Animal Hospital The doctors and staff at Newton Animal Hospital provide trusted and compassionate care to your pets. Newton Animal Hospital opened in June 2006.

However, its history reaches deep in the Newton community. The hospital was formed by merging two long-time Newton veterinary clinics: Town and County Animal Clinic and All Pets Veterinary Clinic. Our new facility continues the tradition of quality care by offering state-of-the-art veterinary services and a caring health care team. In addition to dogs and cats, we also treat horses.

With the busy pace of life, our dogs can't always be with us. We often have to leave them at home and return to them later. As a result, some pets may develop separation anxiety. Fortunately, there are effective ways to help them overcome this. You can train them to understand that you'll be back soon and that there's no need to worry. Techniques like counter-conditioning, gradual desensitization, increasing physical stimulation, and creating a safe space can help. If you need more guidance, please call us at (316) 283-1650.

It's, in fact, TRUE! Even though your pet looks healthy, getting routine blood work during their wellness exams is always recommended. There may be underlying conditions that aren't detectable by the naked eye. Detecting potential problems is one of the essential reasons dogs need blood work, especially for seniors, to monitor their organ health and age-related conditions. Have you scheduled your pet's routine wellness exam? Contact us at (316) 283-1650.

The modern Chihuahua is believed to be a cross between the ancient central and South American Techichi and a small hairless dog from Asia. When your dog's dental health is neglected, there's a significant risk of developing gum disease, which can progress to periodontal disease. If bacteremia occurs, bacteria from the infected gums can enter the bloodstream and spread to other organs, including the heart. Over time, this can damage the heart's structure and function, potentially leading to heart disease. Maintaining your dog's dental health and other health efforts is a vital step in protecting your dog's heart health. Contact us at (316) 283-1650 to evaluate your dog's dental health!
