Protection portion of our PSA1 2nd leg! Score- 186.5/220. We ended up getting the new scenario for our surprise and I was so happy about that! We managed to get 45/50 With Highest Distinction (some points off for the forging in heel.) Super proud of my girl, she truly gave it her all that day, like she does every day. We were both having so much fun- despite the rain, the long cold day, the waiting and the long, long drive…. All so worth it for this - 7 minutes of pure joy as we take home our PSA1 title and another 2nd place finish. 🥈❤️

Of course not! So why should your dog be motivated to work for you, if everything he values is free and readily available to him?
Teach your dog that he can access the things which motivate them THROUGH you. Focus on you, following cues/commands and offering behaviors you like, will earn them a paycheck. That could be in the form of food (divide up daily ration and use as rewards throughout the day,) toys/playtime with you, or affection. Whatever your dog values, he should be earning.

Junebug and her mom post training!
JuneBug Went home recently after a three week off leash obedience board and train stay. She is now set up for a lifetime of success with her dedicated family. Here’s what her mom had to say about her training-
Junebug joined our family as an eight week old pup. She quickly grew to a 80 pound sassy girl, with no manners Walking her anywhere other than our backyard was not an option. The smaller her world got, the worse her behavior was. She would: counter surf, chew everything, refuse to get in the car, jump all over new people, and lunged so hard on the leash to the point of pull me off my feet.Almost any bad behavior you can think of, she did it. None of this is what we got a puppy for. Spending all day, every day with her, I felt like I was failing both of us. Aggravated, frustrated, disappointed and sad we decided to send her for training.
When Junebug was nine months old she joined Katie at Elevated K9 for a three week Board and Train program. Katie completely transformed Junebug in that three week period. She kept us updated with videos, pictures and texts of Junebug's progress, starting on day one, By the halfway point we got to visit and were able to walk her on a loose leash.
At the end of her training, Katie spent time with our entire family to teach us how to properly communicate with Junebug. JuneBug has returned to us so well mannered and behaved.She is a pleasure to have with us both in and out of the house. She is the walking companion I had hoped for.
Katie continues to check in and help us with any concerns we may have. My only regret is that we did not take Junebug sooner. Katie's training is the best investment we could have made for our dog. Our next puppy will be going straight to Katie for Puppy Foundations before coming home to us.

We've been struggling with leaky drive and barking in heel.... left the original video sound because I'm so proud of her, barely a squeak (and no attacking the cones 😅)! Getting there with this girl!
Tobin and her mom have been working so hard in their private lessons. Today we went off leash in a new place with LOTS of distractions and Tobin rocked it!!! These 2 are just 2 months into their training journey and look at them! You guys rock! They put the work in beqtwen lessons and it really shows. Awesome recall Tobin!

What do you look forward to these days? For us, it is Sunday mornings. Bite club w Nate is the highlight of our week. I have seen so much progress in Eleven's bitework. Not just from week to week, but from the beginning of a session to the end even. This is the last minute of her last session of the day from this past week.
There are quite a few young dogs in the group, and it is really awesome to watch them improve week by week. Handlers are working towards PSA, IGP, and PPD goals- come out and join us on the farm in NY one Sunday morning for some bites!! @natethedogman

My girl Eleven. Sorry for the background noise, that isn't her making that ruckus 🤣 Quick clip of some fun heeling. This was after a 1hr 15 mins commute, and 5 hours of work. Eleven spends her day playing in the yard with other dogs, on a place bed, running on a treadmill, or helping out as a decoy dog. Busy, full days, and she isn't crated. She she still comes out with this intensity and joy for the work. Love this girl. She really can do it all, and is sweet as pie to boot. 🥧💖
