The question today is if you are not looking at your dog or if your dog is just relaxing is he still expected to respond promptly ? The answer of course is YES! We were doing breathing patterns in class and the distractions included a loud fan, chair turned away and some food on the floor..Great job Devin and puppy raising family🥰 #alphabravocanine #veterans #servicedogs #lifechanger

Mae headed to the Big Apple for some distraction training..train, subway, traffic, suitcases, city noises, and finishing up at a piano bar. What a Great adventure!

When you start teaching different levels of changing breathing patterns and practice while they are distracted doing normal dog things in the yard and they understand the expectations…awesome job Mae!! Yes we expect our dogs to follow through on and off vest

Working on “load” with different items! What do we use that cue for you ask? Because sometimes we need help with laundry detail and let’s be honest it’s nice when our dogs pick up their toys at the end of the day and put them away in their toy boxes ! #alphabravocanine #veterans #servicedogs

One of the things that we teach our dogs is to watch for breathing pattern changes. When they are in the beginning of learning this we will start out with a louder breath like this one. Over time they get more in tune not only with that but with our body language. If we don’t respond to our dog right away they press in a bit more to redirect and this is done in every environment. This is a light pressure therapy. I’ll post another one with Stryker just watching body language and responding in the same way. #alphabravocanine #servicedogs #veterans #lifechangers #labs

A question that comes up all of the time.. do our dogs need to wear the vest on in the home? The answer is no..however..we still need them to follow through with requests off vest even while they are doing normal Dog things like playing.. good job buddy
