Today 01/05/24 on the 1100 block of 19th St the Niagara Falls Fire Department rescued a stranded cat from a 3 story tall tree! The house cat escaped its owner and once outside became scared and ran up the tree and was unable to back down. It is believed by most “if a cat got up there, it can get down”. That is not always true, especially if the animal is not familiar with the surroundings and is out of its element. This cat was unable to climb down and was reported to have been in the tree multiple days. If not for the rescue the animal would have suffered a imminent and excruciating death. Thank you to all involved!!!!

Earlier today 12/24/23 at 2:45 this lady was found running loose in the area of 79/Edison Ave without tags and unfortunately not chipped. If anyone recognizes this girl please notify her owner and contact the NF Animal Shelter or message us on this site. Proof of ownership will be required to claim. Thank you! D3

Anyone with any information on the pair of loose Pitbulls (1 white and 1 brown) that were involved in incidents near the NF areas of Falls St and Walnut Ave on 12/21/23 please contact the NFPD at 716-286-4711 or message us here at D3. UPDATE! A 33 year old Niagara Falls resident Sammi Jo Toarmino has been arrested and charged with 2 counts of Animal Cruelty.
