Jeff is a pint sized guy at roughly 36lbs. He's just over a year old. Jeff may be able to live with another pup. He loves people. Is super sweet and cuddley, and cute as a button. Shelter life is really getting Jeff down, so he's taken matters into his own hands, and is actively trying to find an adopter. ๐ซ๐
Jeff comes with 6 weeks of sponsored obedience classes through the Noble Beast, courtesy of his friends Selina and Angela!
If Jeff hasn't called you yet, you can reach him at 716-731-4368 ext 0.
Temperatures are going to plummet with lows in the single digits and in some places, dropping below 0ยฐF over the next 2 days. Please bring your short haired dogs inside! They are not built for this weather.
Keep an eye on dogs who go out for potty breaks- especially small, thin-coated, young, old, or sick dogs. Dogs can develop hypothermia or frostbite quickly when temperatures drop below 20ยฐ.
Many dogs will get cold feet while outside and may need to be rescued and carried inside.
Think about putting a coat or booties on your pup.
Check between toes for clumps of snow or ice when dogs come inside.
Husky owners...carry on. ๐ (But please be conscientious during this cold spell.)
Stay safe and warm, everyone!
Not all heroes wear capes.
Do we have any cat moms or dads out there who could be a hero and have a spot for a shy guy? Tim Bit is young (around a year give or take). He was trapped from a small colony by a local trapper and neutered. He was what many community cat caretakers refer to as feeder friendly. She saw promise in him and wanted to give him a chance at indoor cat life. He's not currently a lap cat, but may blossom into one with time and patience.
He gave shelter staff a run for their money while he was here, escaping his kennel during cleanings to hide under banks of cages. He then went into a foster home where he has shown social behavior- talking, allowing chin scritches. We haven't gotten a purr yet, but we're close. He's only been in foster for a few weeks. He is pro cat social- really opens up in the presence of other cats. It's like night and day.
He is super food motivated, and play motivated when he's comfortable with you.
We too want to give him a chance at being a loved indoor cat instead of a loved outdoor cat. Trust us- we are all about TNVR and are not in the business of solializing ferals. This guy isn't that. He's just very shy. If all else fails, we do have a nice barn home lined up, but if someone steps forward who has cat social cats already, that would be the perfect placement for him.
While a meet and greet isn't going to produce instant love on his part, we will require an appointment because he is in a foster home.
His adoption fee has been sponsored.
Please give us a call at 716-731-4368 ext 0 to meet Tim Bit.
On the 3rd day of Pitmas, my true love gave to me:
Silly Odessa swimming,
Peppa Pig a rollin'
And -
you can't have Pierce because he's been adopted!!!
Odessa shelter lock-up: 634 days and counting.
Pepper shelter lock-up: 667days and counting.
Odessa has a wild and free nature. When she's in her element, she seems not to have a care in the world. To tame this girl would be to break her spirit. She needs a guardian who will match her energy, harnessing it with exercise and activities. She's most happy when she's dipping her toes in the water.
Odessa is the only dog in our care to have had a love letter written about her: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19m6Rz8X9A/
Odessa is just over 3 years old and may be able to live with another dog. No cats for this girl.

Pepper is a sweet middle aged gal at almost 7 years old who has the BEST smile.
She came to us emaciated and anemic from malnutrition. She lived with male dogs and cats in a previous home. As can be seen in her photos- Pepper loves a good roll- on any surface - at any time. Come meet this sweet, happy girl who has been with us for way too long!

Seriously, we all have that one friend whose face doesn't hold back๐. Pierce is THAT guy.
Pierce is almost 3 years old and thinks kids, especially teenagers- are super annoying. He'd love a quiet home, possibly with a canine buddy. He's as handsome as the day is long, but he will judge you, and it will be obvious. Want a guy who you can stay home and be an introvert with?! Pierce is definitely it!

She's a beautiful dreamer.
This lovely lady is an Umbrella Cockatoo and available at the Niagara SPCA. Her name is Dreamer. She knows her name and will tell you as much. She's super sweet, very chatty, but needs work on stepping up. Best for an experienced owner.
In the video, she's greeting staff this morning. More videos and photos in the comments.
Please give us a call if you are interested in providing this girl a home. Home visit and appropriate housing required.

This is our NF boy who we've named Dante. He's a typical Shepherd mix in the kennels- all grumbly unhappiness. We've helped him understand that good things happen in his kennel and outside of his kennel with lots of play and cheesey rewards for good boy behavior. After a good play session, he helped behavior staff member, Tina pick out a collar. He chose a Christmas collar and then tried to carry it proudly around the room.
He's scheduled for sterilization next week and then will be available. He's SUPER ball/toy motivated for anyone who's looking for a working dog!
