Here’s a little bit about Parker:

-He’s been working as a vet tech at Heritage for a year. His favorite part of work is all the crazy surprises.
-He enjoys surfing, hunting, dirt biking, horseback riding, and bodybuilding.
-He grew up in Herriman and has 1 younger brother, 2 older sisters, and a loving wife!
-His hidden talent is that he can give you a thumbs up with his toes!
-If he could star in any tv series it would be Yellowstone.
-His theme song is Modern day cowboy by Tesla.
-He loves sushi, the color blue, and tigers.
-His spirit animal is a wolf.
-He would pick a dragon over a unicorn, movie over book, and mountains over the beach.

Here’s a little bit about Megan:

-She’s been working at Heritage for 5 years as a receptionist, tech, and manager, but has stepped down as her and her husband have recently welcomed their new baby girl into their cute family!
-Her favorite parts of the job are having the best coworkers who have become her second family, getting to know clients and helping them through the hard and fun times, and getting to learn something new every single day!
-She enjoys quilting and can make 1-2 baby blankets or one full sized blanket in a day! She also loves being outside with family whether that’s hiking, riding horses, or going for a drive to look for animals.
-She is from Blanding Utah, where she hopes to move back to someday, but currently lives in Logan with her husband of 4.5 years and their sweet baby girl.
-Her hidden talent is making a clover with her tongue!!
-She was convinced she could’ve starred in Flika when she was younger.
-Her favorites are a T-bone with mashed potatoes and veggies, any shade of blue, horses, and otters!
-Her spirit animal would be an exhausted pigeon because that sums up how she’s been feeling recently.

We love Megan and are so grateful she’s apart of the Heritage family! She’s done so much for us and continues to do so, but we are so excited for her and her husband Cades new stage of life!!

Here’s a little bit about Dr. Crandall:
- She grew up in Northern New Mexico
- She has been married to her wonderful husband for 8 years. They have 2 cute kids, 4 horses, 4 dogs and some sheep
- She loves chicken tikka masala from Tandoori Oven, the color turquoise, and horses
- She likes to work cows on her family’s cattle ranch, ride horses, work dogs, go camping and go snowmobiling
- Her spirit animal is a dog
- Her hidden talent is Dr. Pimple Popper: veterinary version
- If she could star in any movie it would be Harry Potter
- She attended Utah State for her Bachelor’s and Master’s, and Utah State/Washington State for vet school
- She’s been in practice for 1.5 years
- Her favorite surgery is a C-section
- One of the craziest surgeries she’s performed was removing a fish hook from a cat’s stomach

This handsome hound named Doc played a key role in relocating a bear found near Quail Canyon Drive two weekends ago by treeing it! He came in for pneumothorax a while back and has had an amazing recovery!!

Here’s a little bit about Dr. Miller:
- He grew up in Preston, Idaho
- He has 4 cute kiddos, 2 cuter dogs and a wife who is by far his better half

- He likes to hike, fish, read, play board games and cook!

- His hidden talent is his dance moves! Second only to Dr Kolste’s!
- If he could star in any movie it would be Star Wars
- He attended Utah State for bachelors, and Colorado State for veterinary school
- He’s been in practice for 10 years
- His favorite surgery is anything new
- One of the craziest surgeries he’s done was removing over 200 bladder stones from a dog

Summer is coming to end but it’s still a good idea to keep an eye out for fleas and ticks! Here’s some information that could be helpful…

We don’t see a lot of fleas or ticks in Cache Valley unless pets are traveling frequently with owners or going hiking in the backcountry.

Flea saliva can cause skin irritations and even anemia in severe cases. Tick bites can cause abscesses, infection and in severe cases paralysis and death.

What can owners use as prevention?
- Simparica, can be used in dogs over the age of 6 months (monthly chewables that protect against fleas before they lay eggs and 5 species of ticks)
- Credelio, can be used in dogs over the age of 8 weeks (monthly chewable that kills adult fleas and 4 species of ticks)
- Bravecto, can be used in dogs over the age of 6 months (Chewable tablets that last 12 weeks, kills adult fleas and 4 species of ticks)

If owners want to have their dogs on prevention for flea and ticks their animal will need to have a yearly exam since all listed medications are prescriptions.
