I had the pleasure of attending the 2024 DSDCTA Awards Banquet last night.

First: I am so proud of my Junior/Young Rider, Samantha and Santi. This was their second year showing dressage, and won so many awards! I think the highlight was being the 2024: Horse of the year and Athlete of the year, with a score of 70.99%. They were also Training level Champion Jr/Yr. 👏👏❤️

Second: I am proud of my Westfalen, Spartacus HOF, who was the DSDCTA and the Gulf Coast Training Level Champion (Open), with a score of 69.7%!

Finally: I was honored to be awarded the Gerard Kirsch Memorial: Instructor of the Year Award! What a wonderful surprise… I’m blessed to have some super junior riders who love the horses, and work hard each lesson. ❤️🐴❤️

A nice ride into the sunset! Duke attended the DSDCTA Ugly sweater show, a bit chilly, but he is getting stronger and I’m happy with his progress. He tries so hard!! He won both of his First level classes. Duke is is a Fresian/Arabian cross, owned and loved by Mrs. Penny Harshman. ❤️🐴

Spartacus is showing some real talent over fences! He jumps for fun when in turnout! I raised the jump and he had no problem. The grey horse is his grand sire. He is bred to jump. I am a dressage rider, so his talent is wasted with me.

A great show for Duke this past weekend! He put in a huge effort, scoring a solid 70.6% and 70.2% in First level test 2 and 3! He won both of his classes and won a High Score Award! Duke is a Fresian/Arabian cross, and he is owned and loved by Mrs. Penny Harshman.

Congratulations to Sam and Santi at their first Region 3 Championships! They were 8th out of a huge class of 40 junior/young riders, with a score of 66.7%! Success can be measured in many ways. Sam and Santi overcame some huge challenges at this facility, and to see them ride a clear, error free test in their Championship class… Was incredible! 👏I’m so proud of the grit and determination this sport instills in riders. It takes a team to get horse and rider to this level of competition, and I’m thankful for everyone’s support. ❤️

Spartacus HOF- After a 9 hour trailer drive the day before, Sparty enjoyed new friends, visiting nearby arenas, and a small event field. It’s nice that he can enjoy some grass turnout with friends. Tomorrow, back to work.

I was feeling sick, so I wasn’t up for riding. There are always ways to train and work with your horse. Sparty was super for flags, broken umbrellas, and fighter jets. ❤️
