Just wanted to show the difference between the early Spring honey (the lighter jar) compared to the latest harvest in August. Early honey came mostly from Clover and has a complex floral flavor, the darker honey is more caramelly. Nice work bees.

Niwot was all abuzz during the 3rd annual Honey Bee Harvest festival on Saturday. Patrons enjoyed browsing through the wares of over 50 vendors at both 2nd Ave and Cottonwood locations. The Tom Theobald lecture series provided educational opportunities to learn about pollinators and other topics.

Bees are snuggling and staying warm in these frigid temps. Got a nice blanket of snow to cover the lavender plants and provide some needed winter moisture. We distilled lavender hydrosol this year and will have available along with plenty of honey at the holiday market on Dec 3rd at the Niwot Grange
