Blue had a long day today 🥺. His teeth were extracted, good news is he did not need to have all his teeth extracted 😊. He is now back at the shelter, in his comfort zone and ready to take a long nap. He took his meds for tonight, wish him a good and comfortable evening! 💤

📣📣📣 This is comet and he is looking for his furever home!

Comet is a handsome boy who prefers humans over animals. Comet is about 2 years old he is up to date on his shots, and is neutered. He even leaves toys in his bowl as a thank you for feeding him 🥹 here is what his foster mommy has to say about him :

“This is Comet. One of the sweetest boys I’ve ever met. He comes from a very bad situation where his previous owner threw him out because “he grew up” it makes me sick to my stomach how someone would think he would be a kitten forever. He is cuddly and very affectionate. He leaves me his toys in his food bowl to thank me for his meals. Unfortunately I need to find him a home where he is the only pet. He is beautiful and it breaks my heart to rehome him but he doesn’t get along with my other cats and he deserves a good home.”

Medium and large dogs are often overlooked at our shelter, which is why most of them have been here for over a year. Some have been here for two! Please help us get them adopted by sharing with friends and family. They are all wonderful dogs who need love!❤️🐶

⭐️ These two wonderful companions are in need of help.

Blue, the gorgeous cat with cool sunglasses, is one of our FIV positive cats. He has been diagnosed with stomatitis, which is a painful mouth condition that creates sores and inflammation. The only way found to cure him of this condition is by removing 90% of his teeth. This surgery will cost $900, which already has been scheduled for November 21st.

Chance is our beautiful white husky, who was found with attack wounds on his neck. He had to be hospitalized for a week and is now doing great! But, he was diagnosed with Cataracts in both eyes and he is losing vision. We want him to recover his eyesight and would like for him to visit a specialist. The unofficial quote for caratact surgery is $2200 per eye, it does not include medication or continued care after surgery.

We ask if you can help us cover these costs with any amount possible. They are both in need of help and we want to help them be healthy 🥺. Thank you in advance, Blue and Chance thank you for your care!!! ❤️

🐶🐱🌈 Honoring our pets: Day for the Dead

As an animal shelter that is located in a border town next to Mexico, we get to experience two different cultures. Mexico has very beautiful traditions but this one hits very close to many of us.Day of the Dead is not only for humans, October 27 is for our beloved pets that have passed.

On this day, we welcome back the spirits of our companions which have crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈. Families create a small altar for the pets to come tonight, and to let them know they are not forgotten. Water, food, a picture of the pet, special items that the pet liked, and cempasuchil flowers🏵 (marigolds)are placed on the altar to guide the spirit home, reminding them the joy and love they brought into our lives 🧡.

Our beloved pets are believed to be our alebrijes. They are our spirit guides that protects us against evil. Alebrijes are colorful creatures that no two are alike. We each have one, they guide us into ethereal and spiritual world 🐾.

We hope that your pet knows how special they were to you 💕💕

If you are looking for the perfect doggie that will sit on your lap and enjoy the outside while you sit in a rocking chair, Mathias is the one for you!

Mathias is a 1 year old male, mixed breed. Mathias is a special boy, he is albino. Hence the beautiful eyes! Mathias cannot spend too much time in the sun as he is more prone to getting skin cancer. He is the sweetest boy who just wants the company of humans. He hears well and can see well. He is also house trained. He is just a small boy full of love! Mathias does prefer to be the only dog in the household as he gets jealous with other dogs in the household
