Wags for Miles - Pet Sitting

Wags for Miles - Pet Sitting Dog & Cat (and others!) pet sitting, serving Nolensville & surrounding areas Let me share the story of how my passion for pet care began.
(16)

My journey started at the tender age of two when I received my first puppy, Ribbons, as a Christmas gift. While I don’t remember much about her, the photos capture her adorable charm. My creativity took a slow start as I named three more pets Ribbons! My love for animals continued when my father brought home a baby turtle he found on the road. We kept him in the bathtub for a while, sparking my cu

riosity about different pets. However, it was my fascination with hamsters that led to my first entrepreneurial venture at just ten years old. With two female and one male hamster, I bred and sold their babies to a local pet shop for $2 each. One memorable morning, I woke up to 18 baby hamsters and excitedly announced to my mom, “I’m a parent!”

Growing up, our home was always filled with pets, many of them rescues I couldn't bear to leave outside. In 2008, I rescued my own cat, Pixel, who remains my beloved sidekick to this day. A couple of years ago, life took an unexpected turn when my girlfriend faced serious health issues and underwent four back surgeries in less than a year. With a two-year-old to care for, I decided to shift my career focus to become their full-time caretaker. I started offering pet sitting services in my neighborhood, and it quickly took off. This career change has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to stay home with my family while enjoying daily exercise, mental recharge, and playtime with my favorite furry companions. I’m happy to help with all of your pet care needs. Please reach out with your requests and I’ll quickly create a personalized care plan for you!

Hi everyone!

I haven't been entirely happy with the current name of this page, but I'm thrilled with the new name I've come up with: "NoLo Pup Crew." However, I have to wait 60 days before I can officially change it here. While most of my care is for dogs, I didn't want to leave out the cats (because they're purrfect).

I’d love your input on one of the key points: which design should I choose for my T-shirts?

- Images in RED feature a nod to cats on the back of the shirt.
- Images in TEAL incorporate cats as part of the overall design.

All thoughts are welcome, so please cast your vote! Thank you!

✨ MEET SASHA & DIMITRI ✨

My Cat Superstars of the week! It’s not often I get to hang with the felines but I love it when I do. I’ve been watching them off and on for over a year now. Usually their dog brother is here too, but he got to hang with Grandma this weekend.

Sasha needs medications and take them like a champ (calico). Dimitri was slow to come around when I first started caring for them last year but now they both greet me as soon as I arrive. Sasha loves looking out the front window and getting excited about birds flying by, while Dimitri is always playing one looong game of hide and seek. He comes out for his head scratches and then returns to the game.

Let me know if any of your kitties need lovin’ while you’re away this Summer. Always happy to help!

Hi 👋🏼 — in starting this page, I wanted it to be a place where all of my new, seasoned, and potential clients could easily find my info, availability, and fun insights during my time with their pets. I reached out to my clients and asked if they wouldn’t mind leaving a recommendation for me so that potential clients could feel at ease when searching for someone to care for their most beloved pets. I have been blown away by the thoughtfulness and details of your reviews. This has ALWAYS been more than just a “job” to me. I’m not here just to collect a paycheck. I have loved animals my whole life. They bring a sense of calm to me and help keep me young and energetic. But to see that my extra care and attention hasn’t gone unnoticed is truly humbling. I thought I’d share a recommendation that one of my clients just left for me. I’ve been caring for John’s sweet pup Puddin’ for over a year now. She is generally my first visit in the mornings and seeing her get up to greet me or her little tail wagging, despite her health conditions, always warms my heart.

To those new and old that have joined - just know your pets get my utmost respect and attention when they’re in my care. This is the best job in the world!

See photo for John’s recommendation.

✨ MEET EMMIE & NELSON ✨

My new pals I started working with yesterday! Emmie wants all the attention and kisses, while Nelson is shy and takes some time to warm up. This is important to share because I will ALWAYS go at their pace, which means the first few visits may look different for some, and that’s okay. We had plans of playing fetch in the backyard and going on a walk, but Nelson was not ready, even though he did well at the Meet and Greet. That is sometimes the case. My first visit alone, he booked it up the stairs and wouldn’t come down. He would let out small growls when I would approach (not aggressively by any means, but letting me know he feels uneasy), so I respected his space and sat, in eye sight, but far enough away that he didn’t feel uncomfortable. I took Emmie outside for playtime and then came back to check on Nelson. Near the end of our visit he let me approach to offer a treat.

On my second visit, he didn’t dart for the stairs, but he did stay on his area of the couch. He took treats from my hands but still wanted his space. It’s important to know that even though a dog is friendly, they may still feel uneasy in new situations. I sat from my corner of the couch and spoke softly to him. Emmie and I played near him so he could see that I was safe. He needs to come around in his own timing, and I have all the patience in the world for this. I am here to give him the care that HE needs, and right now that looks different than Emmie’s and that’s okay!

Nelson and I will be fast friends, I just know it. The more he gets to know me, his walls will come down. He’s just the sweetest so I’m looking forward to our bond growing!
