On Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a new horse in for training. This one’s going to be quite the project over the next few weeks. Her owner has some basic goals they would like to have accomplished. Just enough to get her vetted and comfortable to have her feet worked on.
She is from a rescue who has no known history other than the last year of her life she has been spent with them, recovering from being emaciated and aborting a pregnancy.
She came from a huge hoarding case and that’s all I know🤷🏻‍♀️

These kind of horses require precise, planning, and ex*****on. Without it, one wrong move could send the horse flying in one direction or you killed in the process. I don’t typically work with horses like her on a regular basis for obvious reasons but I felt very greatful to be asked to work for such a great cause.
Let’s see what we can do for her❤️

She’s a ray of sunshine for me this morning. Makes sense not to set yourself up for failure. Enter the classes you know you’ll do well in.
I believe that’s what she’s trying to convey.

Starting out this filly would not give me her eyes. I can tell she’s brave, hard working, testy and isn’t afraid to put up a fight. All things that are admired in a mare. I had to get a bit firm with her in the beginning but we became friends there after. I’m looking forward to finally getting this one going. She’s getting a late start but we’ll catch up.

This little 7m old c**t was so laid back for his first trailer trip away from home. He took a few minutes with a little encouragement from behind and hoped right in.
I’ve worked with him a handful of times with his owner on some behavioral issues and he has shaped up, nicely.
We had done no prior trailer prepping prior to his first load but he handled it like he had done it a million times.
His owner is excited to get him to a facility where he has room to grow and someone that can keep a frequent handle on him.

I love my job🥰

My little cowgirl is always ready to assist the horses off the trailer and back into their stalls after mommy’s lessons, she’s just the cutest!

Hardest part for me about being a horse trainer is separating from them after I know I’ve had my part in their life.
Sacrifices are made to reach for better things. Like every job, people use their careers to pay for their essentials. Promotions are given and a better life is created.
For me, horses have always been my way up in life. As I gained a family horses have now been our way through it. I can trace back to my first sale in 2015 and tell you how each and every sale had its reasons while some got me by others got me better horses, better equipment or lessons from highly qualified trainers. (Those aren’t cheap) and I tip.. but that’s a topic for another day.
For now, I sit here with tears. While this little horse we imprinted is picked up this morning by his new owner and trainer.
It was a huge compliment that a fellow trainer trusted my work enough to give him a test ride for his new owner. After all, he’s only had a few months in the saddle and was trained by me. I learnt quite a bit from watching their one ride together.
I was confident from then on I wasn’t showing him to anyone else and would wait for this lady to make up her mind on him.
They saw him a total of 3 times over the course of a few weeks. Vet came out to do a PPE and said some nice things about him.
But my heart aches, all the memories we have with him. My son and I being the first to touch him. His mama neglected him the first hour and we got to see them introduce themselves. It was a sight I’ll never forget. My sweet Rey. A sweet c**t like no other!
