Our goal with this new thing is to save both you and our doctor's time, provide the best care for your pet, and make appointments go more smoothly. We look forward to talking to you soon!

Is your dog or cat dressing up for Halloween this year? I want to hear what they are going to be, and even better would be a picture!

My whole family is being condiments. I am sweet and sour sauce, my husband BBQ sauce, my dog Alfredo is mayonnaise, and our foster dog, Rigatoni, is mustard. 😆The four cats we own have assertively declined participation.

Hump Day is Check for Lumps Day! Remember, pets can get mamillary cancer as well as testicular cancer, so sometimes you might need to get...a little...personal...to check all areas on your pet for lumps.

10/18/2022

Tuesday Tips!

Don't have the time, energy, or capacity to take your dog for as many walks as you think they might need/want? Doggie daycare is an option. Rover.com offers pet walkers in your area. I personally might look into posting an ad for some high school or college kids looking to make some extra cash. Remember, it takes a village sometimes--help is not the enemy!

It's everybody's favorite time of the week... Trivia Sundays!!!!!

Read the following blog and tell me your thoughts. If you have differing opinions, that is no problem, just be nice to one another, please: https://www.socalvetgroup.com/blog/retractable-leashes

All folks that read the blog AND comment their thoughts will have $5 of free pet coins transferred to their Pet Pit Stop app, on us!

The majority of veterinary staff, as well as dog trainers, do not advise using a retractable leash. Are you a bad pet parent for using one? Absolutely not. There are many reasons that an owner could benefit from retractable leashes, such as: mobility limitations, joint or hand pain, inclement weathe

Time for Tuesday Tips!

Trouble collecting urine your pet’s appointment? We have options. At the appointment, we may be able to retrieve urine directly from the bladder with a needle, which sounds uncomfortable but really isn’t. You could also choose a drop off appointment with us to collect that sample for you. You could use a ladle to collect the urine and keep your hands out of the way. So many options.

For our cat friends, use shredded newspaper or NoSorb pellets in the litter box and then simply pour the urine into another container to bring to us (make sure to refrigerate it to keep it usable for us).

10/10/2022

We have BOATLOADS of open appointments for tomorrow, Tuesday, 10/11. Call, text, email, or use our app to schedule now! 🚢

Time for Trivia Sundays!

What are some options for deterring your cats from scratching up furniture? Need help? We talked about a few options on Tuesday. Feel free to post your alternative ideas as well! :)

Feel Good Friday!

There are dogs and cats who give blood routinely as donors for furry patients that need transfusions (for a variety of reasons). Is your pet easy-going and an ideal candidate for superhero-status? Check with your local ER vet office to learn about ways your pet can save lives.

Personal note: While employed in an ER as a vet nurse, my sweet black cat Pandora was a go-to kitty blood donor for sick patients.

My most favorite kind of x-rays to look at.

Tuesday Tips!

Tired of your cat scratching up your furniture? Get some scratching posts, corrugated cardboard toys, trim their nails frequently, or invest in nail caps!

10/03/2022

Thank you for playing trivia this week! The answer was B) Alone Time. Sure, it is normal for your pet to want some space sometimes, but if they are hiding out and that is not their usual behavior, that could be an indication of pain, illness, and changes in the environment that may be scary for them. Best to consult a vet!

10/02/2022

Totally Trivia Time.

Which is NOT a reason your pet might be hiding out frequently all of a sudden?
A) Pain
B) Alone-time
C) Changes in the home environment
D) Illness

Add blog-reading to your weekend agenda! :D

This week we talk about my product reviews of cat litter! What do you use? Why do you like it? These are just my personal opinions, folks, but worth the read anyway hahahaha.

Next week we talk about retractable leashes. Stay tuned!

The following are four different types of cat litter that I have used, whether it be for my own cats, or as part of professional experience working in veterinary clinics as a veterinary nurse/technician. These are solely my opinions–everyone looks for different things in a good cat litter!
