We are a CL/CAE/Johnes/Brucellosis free herd. We are a small homestead farm located in Norco, CA.
(2)
We raise quality ADGA registered dairy goats and participate in local shows as well as DHIA milk testing and began participating in linear appraisal during 2018. We raise our own food from meat to vegetable as well as eggs, milk and goat milk byproducts. We love to share in the value of show quality market and dairy goats to help increase the knowledge of raising healthy goats which begins with proper animal husbandry.

I'm about to toot the horn of the youngest herd manager. She recently told me that she's no longer a crazy goat lady in training...she's now a crazy goat lady out of training π
This little spark plug got her first taste of showing goats when she was 2 years old. A good friend and mentor let her borrow a Nigerian Dwarf kid and I walked with her helping to hold the collar. Fast forward 4 years and she's telling us we don't need to help her show her own herd of Oberhasli π
Not only does she show her own goats but she also helps with trimming hooves, shaving, vaccinating, kidding, feeding, milking, and even has her own set of tools and wheelbarrow. She is no slouch! She always amazes me at her commitment and enthusiasm, even when it means getting us both out of bed to watch the ADGA National Show at 4am so we can watch our friends show Grades π₯΄
Judges: Don't take her age for granted! She's already been in the game for 4 years. Give her expectations and advice when you can. Thank you to those who help set the goat up more correctly when she can't reach or see.
Fellow showpersons: Thank you for helping her understand what maneuvers the judges are requesting. Some of you have even taken her under your wing as a "little sister" and it means the world to us.
Parents: ya, it is extra work but so worth it to share the ring with your child. We're already going to the show and the youth classes are the future of the dairy goat industry.
It truly does take a village and I couldn't ask for a better one to raise up my child around. Thank you π
This handsome man is ready to work, possibly for you π
Every π Single π Time π
Countless hours spent coaching, and still can't follow instructions! Any parents out there catch themselves making faces like this when your kids are showing? The Women at Ranch House Designs know all to well. Learn more about us at ranchhousedesigns.com!
We had an affirming and educational linear appraisal yesterday. Thank you to Ben Rupchis for letting our 6 year old walk her own goats and for using kid-friendly terminology to help her understand his evaluations π

TURQUOISE DAISY NEON MOON
DOB 2/18/21
Sired by Our senior herd sire *B Ober-The-Top Flint came to us in April of 2020 as a three year old who had done his job at his previous owners and looking for his next herd. He impressed me with his strong chest floor, long body, top line, width, rump, and rear leg assembly. His dam SGCH Ober-The-Top Flicker is a 14*M who scored a 91 EEEE at three years old. His sire *B Brackett's Sunburst Moses comes from a long line of *B's and achieved a 91 EEE at three years old.
Her wonderful dan is Dynamic Hunter's Sassoon. She came out the gate running when she won her restricted leg and reserve junior best in show as a three month old kid! The following year we limited our shows as I recovered from major surgery and the one show we made it to we showed under AOP where she managed a reserve champion win in one ring against some beautiful and obviously much larger Alpines. The biggest hit came early for us as we realized that our senior buck wasn't settling our does and unfortunately our junior buck just didn't get her in time so she sat dry for 2020.
We are excited to be able to show her this year and attend linear appraisals.
Anyone else giving up sleeping at night to study this Fall's breeding plans?
I'm too excited to sleep!
