Christmas camp was an absolute blast! The youngsters had an absolute ball horseback riding, followed by a refreshing horse bath (because December in California = 80°). Then, they showed off their skills with some incredible art projects! And the grand finale, cowboy Santa moseyed on over for some unforgettable photo ops with the campers and Zeke!

Hello everyone! Are you ready for the holidays?! I know my family is. It is definitely our favorite time of year. That said, we have some fun things planned here at SK Equine Academy over the next couple of months.

First, our Christmas and New Year’s Day camps still have openings! The dates for them are 12/7/24 and 1/4/25. Both are from noon to four PM. Please reach out to me directly to sign up. Kids ages 5 and up are welcome!

Starting in January we will start a new initiative! It is based off of a curriculum called “HorseSense Learning Levels”.
It is a program that sets students up for success by establishing attainable milestones and celebrating accomplishments in a fun, nurturing environment. Students will get work sheets to show what their level is focusing on and then, when ready, test to move into the next level. It includes both riding skills as well as on the ground handling and horse education. This will ensure there are no gaps in their horse knowledge and they are well rounded horsemen (and women)!
Those who are interested in the program are encouraged to take weekly lessons to ensure steady progress. There will be regular “HorseSense Fun days” where those in the program can get together, practice skills together and show off their abilities to move up to the next level.
There is no cost to join! If you would like to be a part of this program please let me know so I can ensure you get the work sheets you need!

As a result of the inclement weather, we have cancelled several lessons this week. In accordance with our health and safety procedures, we also cancel ground lessons during extreme wind conditions. Nevertheless, we have made additional time slots available on Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning next week for make-up lessons. Additionally, there are still a few spots available on Friday afternoon, and we anticipate that the wind will have died down by then.
