~ I started this journey after I recieved my Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from completing college at The Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa in 2006. I then worked for almost 12 years in veterinary medicine. In 2022 I decided to start my own pet sitting LLC- I believe my education and experience working there have formed me into a great animal caretaker. I welcome all species. Each visit includes overall care; Walks, feedings, potty breaks, cage or pen cleaning, medication, fresh water, playtime, litter box cleaning, affectionate interaction & enrichment activities, close one on one care are always provided and are done at no extra cost. I also help with trash & recycling, mail and packages and rotation of lights and curtains/blinds if applicable.

"Animals choose to come into our lives. They are part of our karma and we are part of theirs. Sometimes they are found "abandoned" or wandering, in the middle of a road or in danger in the heart of the night; other times they are found at the front door of the house, as sent by fate; other times they arrive from loved ones, neighbors or strangers.

Animals were already in our karma at least. In this life, as in the others. According to Brian Weiss, the same animal often incarnates itself several times during our lifetime, simply changing shape and coat, and being recognized by small gestures, details and subtle habits. This is clearly seen with cats.

When a "new" animal enters our house and knows exactly where to go, it's a sign that it simply says back. Many people, at the moment of death, receive the soothing vision not of a deceased relative, but rather of an animal. This means a lot. Because for our soul there is no difference between one species and another.

Animals are in our evolutionary path just like we are in theirs, for this reason we must respect them as sacred creatures and take the greatest care of them. They are part of us, in a different form of the universe."

Without question,
some of the most significant and truest connections,
and some of the most selfless acts of love I’ve ever known and felt,
did not come from another person.
But in the wild and unconditional affection
that could only come from dogs.
And only those who have felt the pure and unshakeable bond
from an animal
would understand that truth.

At my worst,
most isolated and wayward,
it was the warmth and attention of a dog
that steadied me.
It was their wagging sympathy
and faithful doting
that ripped down the curtains of my heart and mind
and allowed light to flood back in.

They say we don’t deserve dogs,
and how true a statement.
The scars on my soul were made by humans,
not by beast.
Yet it was always that latter rescuing me
from myself.
From isolation and feelings of hopelessness.
During my darkest moments
it wasn’t man who sensed my sadness as intuitively
as a dog could and did.
It was that awareness and visible reverence
that buoyed my spirit.
That calmed me.
That brought joy back into my world.
That reminded me to smile.
Went and fetched my faith.
Proved that happiness can be beautifully simple, too.

In the end,
the tenderness and kindness I show others today,
is a result of being shown it first
by life’s most loyal companions.
Where people commonly let you down,
dogs instinctively lift you up.

I have realized that even through leaving veterinary medicine, I cannot escape dealing with death. As bad as I wanted to seperate myself from that painful process, it’s inevitable. I am fortunate that it’s no longer a daily occurrence of having to experience this immense sadness everyday but damn does it hit me like a bag of bricks all over again when I have to say goodbye. With that being said, I am so grateful to be able to build a bond with each animal that I take care of and it absolutely breaks my heart when that time is up.
I hope all of you know that I love each and every one of your amazing creatures that I get to grow close with and I’m loving them right along with you…
Till we meet again, Rocky. You were such a good boy. 💔

“How it is that animals understand things I do not know, but it is certain that they do understand. Perhaps there is a language which is not made of words and everything in the world understands it. Perhaps there is a soul hidden in everything and it can always speak, without even making a sound, to another soul.”

We need to go first because we cannot live without your love and care. If we lived longer than you, we would not and could not survive. It’s supposed to be this way. We also need to cross the Rainbow Bridge before you do so that we can be on the other side to greet you when you get there. We wait at home for you here and we wait at home for you there. It’s just the way it is.

One thing I don’t do is push interaction on my ones who need more time. I respect their space and build trust and wait till they come to me.

🛇 Use your Manners! 🛇
The Sniff test - Stop doing that!
The sniff test - a badly engrained habit that society has been taught, without a clear understanding of what they're actually doing.

🚩When you reach out towards a dog, you are using body pressure AT them, giving them no time to assess whether you are safe & whether they require further investigation to pick up your information. You are forcing an interaction of a relationship that hasn't had time to develop. To some dogs, this is quite rude & the reason a lot of dogs snap at or bite people. This can cause alot of behavioral issues because of layered stress due to forced interactions.

🚩If they are on lead, they have no where to go if they are sensitive to spacial pressure, so can end up shutting down, shying away or snapping at your hand so you back off. This is an example of how a dog is now using pressure to turn off pressure & make you back off so they aren't so stressed.

🚩People think by offering your hand it can give the dog time to sniff to know you're friendly... they can sniff without being forced to sniff your hand.Their noses are far more superior than ours & they don't need close contact forced upon them to smell you.

🚩Some dogs might not want to know you. You have no relationship with them and that's perfectly fine. They aren't your dog so you don't need to touch them or steal pats for your own satisfaction.

🤔 If you are meeting a dog, what should you do?
⚠Ask the owner if you can interact with their dog. Not all people want strangers touching their dogs. Especially strangers who you are unlikely to see again.
⚠Stand up straight & relaxed, with your hands at your side.
⚠Ignore the dog & talk to the owner.
⚠Don't stare at the dog & don't try to force an interaction by going in for a pat. If the dog wants to know you, it will come up to you & sniff around. Usually they will move away & then come back for a second sniffathon. Some dogs will bunt your hands & wag their tails, which are good signs that you're likely an accepted new friend. Give them a few slow pats down their back (NOT THEIR HEAD) & then stop. Is the dog happy? Has it accepted your interaction? This will determine whether you can give it more pats.

🐶This is a more stress free option for dogs & a reason why in consultations we can develop a good level of trust, especially with fearful dogs & aggressive dogs, without a bunch of negative side effects from forced interactions.

“When I say that I love animals, I mean to say that I am IN love with them. Because they don't know evil and have never been tempted by it.
Because they are the purest image of any higher being I have ever known.
Because their souls are made of a much larger magic than my own, and if you let them, they will show it to you.
Because this world is theirs, they were here first.
And we should all love them a little more for graciously allowing us to have so much of it.”
