Hello Clients and Berkshire Animal Care family,

I have just attended the AVMA Veterinary Conference in Austin TX. It is a large conference where many activities are going on - specialist speak on various topics; vets have one-on-one discussions; there is professional networking; and a large product/service expo. I was surprised to hear many veterinarians and support staff complaining about their clients. They spoke of arguments with clients, verbal abuse, and other stressful work situations. I want to take this opportunity the say a big THANK YOU to all my clients for all the kindness and support you have given me and my staff over the years. We are truly blessed to be in a community that values small businesses and the people within them. We look forward to many more years helping you to care for your furry family.

Donut worry - be happy! Technician Sydney had both of her kids in surgery this month. Olive the Yorkie had a spay procedure, and her recently adopted senior girl, Luna the Maltese, had a dental and mammary growth removal. Great job, girls!

Hey, all. Black fly season is upon us. Remember if your pet comes in with red spots and bullseyes all over their belly, it's most likely just these creepy buggers who have gotten to them, not necessarily anything more sinister. Cold compresses and some benadryl cream or hydrocortisone cream can be applied if they're itchy!😡😖

We have so much to be thankful for this week!

A big thank you to Dr. Peter Humphrey for helping this summer! We will miss you and look forward to seeing you next year!

Thank you to the good Samaritan who opened their car door to capture a sneaky patient who slipped away from her owner and ran into the street on Monday. We are beyond grateful!

And lastly, thank you to our wonderful technicians as we come to a close of Vet Tech Appreciation Week! We couldn't function without you!

ALSO! Dr. Maynard and technician Julia were at it again last weekend being rockstars. Dr. Maynard competed in a 30 mile ultramarathon in New Hampshire and Julia competed in the World Championship IronMan race in Kona, Hawaii!! We are in awe of you and thankful you both made it back home (mostly) intact! 😉
