With Halloween right around the corner, here's a look at some tips on how to keep your pups safe this spooky season. That includes safe costumes, providing a safe space for your pets on Halloween night and avoiding chocolate candy.

One of the most common toxicities in dogs is caused by chocolate ingestion. Dogs can't metabolize chocolate in the same way people can, so keeping chocolate in a secure location out of your dog’s reach is essential.

Litchfield Hills Mobile Vet Clinic

L.H.M.V.C. is a one doctor practice nested in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. Located in Norfolk, or locally known as the Icebox of CT, we put our pride into making sure every client and patient is treated with the utmost respect and care.

Dr. Kimberly Maynard is our lead Veterinarian and Owner of the practice. Dr. Maynard first started out as a Mobile unit only traveling to the local areas. As she establish clients and got to be well known, she decided to make a business decision and find a stationary building where she could start doing more treatments, care and hospitalization for her patients. This is where we are located now at the corner of Ashpohtag Road and Route 44 in Norfolk. We are currently still mobile on Thursdays making only house call appointments to the local areas.

Dr. Maynard and her staff of eight, take great pride in caring for every animal that walks through their door. From wellness exams, to surgery, to dental procedures, to nail trims.. they treat each animal like their own!

We are here from Monday to Thursday each week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Fridays 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. We are not an emergency clinic but we do refer our clients to the Veterinary Emergency Center of Canton in our off hours. They are open 24 hours and their phone number is 860-693-6992.
