PLEASE READ AND SHARE. It’s Wishlist Wednesday and we are highlighting our newest retiree Farley and his wishlist. See our story for a link to donate.
Now and then when we rescue a dog from the shelter who is never adopted. Some have behavioral challenges, some are just older and not attractive to potential adopters, and some have expensive medical issues no adopter is willing tackle. We don’t know what we are getting when we pull a dog from the shelter or take in an owner surrendered dog. But we do our best to help them.
In Farley’s case he was adopted not once but twice and returned both times. When he was adopted the first time, after a few weeks he decided he didn’t like children - understandable given his vision issues and was, therefore, returned. The second time he was adopted, it seemed like the perfect fit but once in his new home he decided he couldn’t play nice with the resident cat! So, he was returned …again. We kept him listed as adoptable, hoping his angel would come along. But it never happened. The board finally decided he would become part of our retired dogs and join Corra’s Crew along with Whiskey and Jackson (RIP) who just passed away.
Farley is now living his best life. He has a steady home now with a loving foster family. He can relax and enjoy life without being shuffled around anymore. Farley is thriving in his new (and last home). His foster mom has experience with vision impaired, senior dogs. He has been enjoying snuffle mats, short walks and senior snoozes! He will see the vet next week for a check up and a sedated shave down (he won’t tolerate a full groom in the salon).
Please donate to Farley’s Wishlist (or make a donation in his honor). See link below or in our story/bio.
