All week long we’ve asked clients to guess “how many cookies fit into this festive skull” 💀 🦴

We’ve had some really good guesses!

A winner has been chosen based on the closest prediction ✨🏆

Our winner of this challenge is Maverick, the GSD 🩵

Maverick and his mom said “343” our final total for the cookies was 329 ‼️

For close contestants we had:
2nd place recognition - “350” Mika, the golden retriever 🦮
3rd place recognition - “250” Basil, the chocolate lab 🐶

Many others were guessing a little too low! 😜

🎃 Happy Halloween🎃

We’re wishing everyone a spooky-fun Halloween filled with treats, not tricks! 👻

Here are a few dog safety tips to keep your furry friends safe during trick-or-treating and Halloween festivities:

🦴 Beware of Toxic Treats: Chocolate, raisins, and sugar-free candies with xylitol are all toxic to dogs. Keep all treats out of reach, and have pet-safe goodies ready so your dog doesn’t feel left out!

🎃 Costumes & Comfort: Not all dogs enjoy wearing costumes. If your dog seems uncomfortable or anxious, it’s best to keep them in a Halloween-themed bandana instead. If they’re happy in costume, make sure it’s free of small pieces and doesn’t restrict movement, sight, or breathing.

👹 Stranger Danger: Constant doorbell ringing and people in costumes can be overwhelming for pets. Create a cozy, quiet spot in a separate room with a few favorite toys or a treat-filled Kong to keep them calm.

🍬 Decorations & Lighting: Some Halloween decor, especially candles and cords, can be hazardous. Ensure lit candles, electrical cords, and any small decorations are out of reach to avoid accidental burns or choking hazards.

Now HIRING Kennel Technician!

We are seeking a dedicated part-time Kennel Technician to join our team with flexible hours from 1 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with the potential for extended hours as we grow our business.

Our facility is open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closed on all major holidays, and occasionally due to inclement weather. From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Kennel Technician will have time to finish any cleaning and sanitary needs for our daily operations.

Our Kennel Technicians take pride in being essential assistants to our trainers, as our jobs could not perform without their help.

The role involves maintaining a safe and sanitary facility through sweeping, mopping, cleaning kennels, washing dishes, and sanitizing rooms. Other responsibilities include assisting in classes, pottying our day school canines, checking out clients, booking appointments, answering phones, locking and securing the facility nightly, and occasionally providing services like brush and baths or nail trims when needed.

We’re looking for someone who is destined to help us build our business and see the livelihood within a career here.

Qualities Wanted:
- Positive energy
- Eager to communicate with clients and staff
- Organized and sanitary
- Timely
- Ability to multitask
- A team player
- Excellent phone etiquette and cashier handling skills

Employees must work beyond 90 days to become eligible for paid training as a Dog Trainer. Additionally, employees who stay for up to one year are eligible for one week of paid vacation time.

Applicants must be comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes, be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and be quick on their feet. No experience necessary, but a passion for learning about dog training and handling is a plus! This position is open to candidates 18 years or older.

Here’s how it works:
🧙‍♀️ Drop off your unopened bags of dog treats anytime between now to the 26th of October.

🐕 During the week of Halloween, we’ll have treat containers set up so your pups can “trick or treat” during pick-up hours!

🎃 We’ll provide festive goodie bags for you to collect treats in!

Please note: All treats must be unopened to ensure safety, and we’ll have the ingredients listed on each jar in case of allergies (for both dogs and humans)!
