The Queenie Saga:
Two months ago I posted pics of our first clutch from Queenie. They looked healthy initially but quickly yellowed and showed no signs of being viable (I did incubate just to be sure). I was super disappointed but had to move on to work on some other projects and focus on getting Queenie's strength up for next year.
Queenie is a voracious eater who often hangs out in front of her enclosure lest we forget she's willing to eat literally any time π.
So two days ago I was concerned when she refused food. She had just shed last week, so she wasn't in blue (not that she refuses food even then!).
Her behavior has been odd, and in retrospect much like before laying last time (including what I now know was a pre-lay shed!) but I thought she was just being active. Picked her up and sure enough her ventral scales were rounded on her lower half.
**Please note that I did NOT pair her again after her first clutch**
Yesterday she wasn't in her lay box or moving around so I searched her viv and sure enough, there were 9 eggs! Some are duds but there are a few that look promising.
Most importantly, Queenie's looking good (but tired!) and the eggs are incubating. Fingers crossed for some babies!
