In the wee hours of this morning at the first crack of dawn our hero Heather came and pulled Samson and Lucy out of the shelter. They’re on the way to Coming Back Home Rescue in Ohio. Coming Back Home does so much for dogs here in North Augusta. We sent Heather and her Co-pilot back with some donut holes from EnDonuts and we would like to wish them safe travels. If you can, please show them some love. 💕

Some post are hard to write for those of us who love animals. This beautiful plotty mix came into our shelter via NAPS in the early hours of this morning. We weren’t sure if she was near labor or had been separated from her puppies. After a temperature check and having her checked out by some local rescuers it appears as that she has been separated from her babies. We even took her back to where she was picked up to see if she’d show us her puppies and we had no luck. If you see any puppies in the Plaza Place apartment area or have any info on this sweet baby girl please contact Officer McBride ,PM the pound page or me (Dennis Briatico) immediately. She is not chipped and her stray hold will be up in 5 days.

I want to once again take a moment to thank ACO Craig McBride who on his birthday met me at the shelter for me to pull a kitten and then he helped me look for these puppies.

North Augusta Pound Stats for June!

24 animals left the pound this month.

We only had 1 euthanized this month due to severe neglect.
RIP Spirit, you deserved better than your person did to you.

6 of the 24 were adopted.
7 of the 24 went to Molly's Militia.
1 of the 24 went to Project Freedom Ride.
2 of the 24 went to Coming Back Home Rescue.
1 of the 24 went to For The Love of Street Dogs.
3 of the 24 went to Loveable Paws Rescue
3 of the 24 were returned to owners.
And last but not least, we had a bunny go to a farm too!

It was another great month thanks to amazing team work!

Update: we had someone reach out! Need met in record time. Thank you.

This beautiful rabbit was just surrendered to the shelter. We will keep it safe but we are not set up at all to take care of a rabbit and we are scared that the dogs will scare it. So we are looking for someone to adopt it immediately or do a “citizens hold” until we can find proper placement for it. Please help spread this baby around and let us know if you can help.

Molly's Militia has been fighting for animal welfare in our area for 25 years now. Whenever kittens come into our shelter we can count on Molly’s Militia to lend a hand. In addition to this Molly’s Militia has pulled many many dogs over the years. They have always supported our shelter. They’ve taken truckloads of baby kittens into their rescue without pledges or donations. I got to spend the morning with this little darling, Rosa, from the North Augusta Shelter! She's incredibly sweet. I can't understand how someone neglected her so badly. She's with the rescue, For The Love Of Street Dogs now! She's heading to the vet and a brand new life! I love this little girl!
