With the hot and humid weather in full effect, please limit outdoor activity and consider brief bathroom breaks for your furry family members!

This weather can lead to burned paw pads, overheating and heatstroke, and excessive panting with immediate water ingestion after activity can lead to bloat.

Monitor temperature and humidity levels even for early morning and late night walks as there is still the potential for overheating.

UPDATE: The owner has been found!!

DO YOU KNOW ME?
this little boy was found running down route 31 in Batavia by one of our technicians about 30-40 minutes ago.
He is friendly but very nervous, he is not microchipped. As we don’t have a boarding facility or offer overnight care, if haven’t heard from anyone in about an hour he’ll have to go to Kane County Animal Control for a hold until the owners have been found.

Remembering K9 Hudson, one year since his watch ended. Forever a good boy ❤️

It has been one year from today since we lost K-9 Hudson during the apprehension of a car-jacking offender and four of my heroic deputies were involved in a shooting incident with him.

All four deputies returned to work shortly after and are doing great.

Please take a moment to think of them and Hudson.

Hi ROCAH family, we hope everyone has been well. As we enter the summer months, we wanted to connect and update all of you on clinic happenings.

March marked Randall Orchard Crossing’s 10 year anniversary! We can’t express how proud we are to not only have been servicing the North Aurora community for a decade, but also how honored we are to have such an amazing group of clients and patients. We strive daily to provide you and your pets with complete, comprehensive care with a warm family feel, and that wouldn’t be possible without your continued trust and support. We look at you and your pets as our extended family. Being able to share the joy in milestones and achievements, and give support and comfort in uncertain or hard times is what the ROCAH family is all about. We look forward to continue providing the level of care you’ve all come to know, for many years to come.

April brought us the tremendous honor of NVA’s Best in Show Award - Red Ribbon, 2023.
We couldn’t be more grateful, it was quite the surprise! The Best in Show award embodies Randall Orchard Crossing’s mission: Excellence in quality animal care and customer service. For us those concepts go hand in hand and we’re here to offer support to your pets and you, every step of the way.

As many of you have noticed, we have added two new faces to the clinic! Anne joined the clinic in November as a member of our technician team and has a knack for making dogs fall in love with her. Kyle joined the clinic in April as a member of our client services team and he has a calming presence that even our most nervous patients appreciate. Although we added two new faces, we are still the small group you’ve all come to know.
Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Curiel are our amazing and committed doctors. Don, Dani, and Anne are our knowledgeable and dedicated technician team, and Kyle and Ann are our wonderful and kind client services team. Ashley is our hospital manager so you may hear her familiar voice from time to time.

From all of us at ROCAH, thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you and your furry family members and hope you all have a wonderful, fun, and safe summer.

Senior pets are incredible companions!!
Unfortunately many senior pets in need of adoption are overlooked due to their age.
If you’re thinking of adopting a pet, please keep seniors in mind! A good portion are already spayed/neutered, are housebroken or litter box trained, some know tricks or commands, and all are looking for the love of a family - large or small - to fill their remaining years.

Some days, this is what patient care looks like!

Moose is a 13-month-old albino rat. She came to us today for a mass removal and as the photos show, she perked up very quickly after her procedure. It was a pleasure being able to care for and spend time with Moose today.

Rats are extremely clean animals, who are also remarkably intelligent and very sociable.
