This young mama and 2 of her baby girls are still looking for their forever homes!
(Little ginger girl Rosie has a home!)
Congrats Olivia Ward you won the chance to name the family! Let me know what names you would like to choose for these ladies and their mama!
Thank you everyone for always supporting me and the piggies!
This momma and her babies are so thankful to everyone who has donated and supported the rescue the last few weeks and of course, over the last few years!! Without your help, these creatures wouldn’t have a chance at life!
Thank you for making a difference and for helping me save lives!
I like to keep my non-bonded girls in herds of 4. This herd has Trinket, a hospice piggy, Rapunzel, a piggy who has hair loss that is a medical hold along with two available girls Maggie (little girl) and Willow. Maggie and Willow can got to their new home separately or together.
Herds like this encourage socialization and keeps others from having to be alone. Just another way of enriching the lives of those here in rescue while they are here. (yes, they have hides and toys, I like to record them without those so people can see the bigger picture). ♥️
Finneus and Levi are patiently waiting for homes! They can be separated or go together. ♥️
These chonkalicious girls are looking for a new home together! Cocoa & Marshmallow would love to be your snuggle buddies!
Adopt them this weekend and get a free carrier!
Cookie is waiting patiently for his forever home. A very laid back, older gentleman. Loves snuggles and binging Grey’s Anatomy. His favorite character is Dr. Webber.
Lice!!
One of the things that every intake gets is a dose of revolution and I continue to give it monthly while they are here. Although costly, it is a NECESSITY in guinea pig rescue and I always make sure I have it on hand (prescription only). Not only does it prevent an outbreak, but it saves the piggies from being itchy and uncomfortable.
These 2 young boys came to me today. Why do they have lice? They could have come from a pet store with it. It could have been in the hay they were eating (it happens more than you think!!) all I know is it is being taken care of now. (And no, it wasn’t neglect from their previous family.)
There is no need to panic! If you suspect your guinea pig may have lice or mites, call your exotics vet for a visit and treatment. You didn’t do anything wrong, so don’t feel bad. It can travel in hay, even hay bought from a store!
Can we get lice from our guinea pigs? No! You may feel itchy, but that’s just your imagination. We cannot catch lice that guinea pigs have and vice versa. It cannot be transmitted to dogs and only one type of guinea pig lice will attach to cats.
Shoutout to @thereefvet for the awesome magnified video of the lice we collected!
How are these boys still here?!?! This dynamic duo needs to find their forever home! #adoptdontshop
Karen B. you are the winner!!! Send me a message with your e-mail address!
