Next up on our staff introductions is Cindy Dufore! Born and raised in the North country Cindy comes to us with a lot of prior experience keeping and office functional and organized. She is our office administrator and is in charge of placing drop ship orders, scheduling appointments, and keeping the office running behind the scenes. She is a very kind and organized asset in our office and is a huge animal lover! In her free time she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family! Thanks for being part of the team Cindy :)

Our office will be closed this Friday July 4th. We will have a vet available for emergencies. Any routine medicine orders or scheduling calls will be returned Monday July 7th. Happy July 4th!

We would like to finally get around to giving a warm “Facebook welcome” to our new office staff!

First up is Jenna Wrye! Jenna comes to us all the way from Texas, where she had a variety of job experiences. She and her fiancé spent the last year or so exploring the country in their renovated bus, and decided to settle down here in the North Country… and we are certainly glad they did! Jenna is in charge of many important behind the scenes tasks that help us run smoothly. She manages inventory, preps and cleans equipment, keeps our office organized, and helps out in the field with procedures. Jenna is super kind, organized, and passionate about what she does. In her spare time, she enjoys kitten rescue missions, cross-stitch, and spending time with her fiance and pack of dogs 🙂 We are very lucky to have her as part of the team!

With graduation season upon us a few congratulations are in order! First up a big congratulations to Olivia Stevenson who graduated from SUNY Canton’s Veterinary Technician program!! She is pictured here during her time working with us assisting with recovering a castration, delivering a calf, and with Dr. Tracy at a rabies clinic. We are so so proud of her! 🙂 Next up congratulations to a few of our awesome past student externs: Brooke Goddard pictured here monitoring a foal patient graduated from SUNY Canton’s Veterinary Techician program, Dr. Abigail Brisard pictured here removing a tumor from an equine patient graduating from Tufts Veterinary School, and Dr. Emily Cherevaty pictured here repairing a pr*****ed uterus in a cow graduating from Ontario Veterinary College. The future of veterinary medicine certainly is bright with all these awesome ladies!

A reminder to our drop ship clients that Monday is a holiday and medications will not be shipped until Tuesday. Our vets will be available for pre-scheduled appointments and emergencies. Some exciting new additions to North Star Vets today! 😍 Dr. Jen and Dr. Tracy got their new vet boxes put in today. These are going to help make providing timely vet care to your farms so much easier for us. Big thanks to Jeremiah from Bowie International for the super service with delivery and installation, Wally and PAPAS Dairy LLC for driving down a skid steer in the rain to do the heavy lifting, and our awesome staff for helping the rodeo run smoothly.

This equipment plus a few more things that we have purchased over the last few years are thanks to funds from a Rural Practice Enhancement Grant from the USDA’s Veterinary Service Grant Program which was awarded to us 3 years ago. These federal funds are awarded to veterinary practices in rural areas providing service to farm animals to help purchase equipment to advance the level of veterinary care they can provide to their area. We are very grateful we were awarded this grant to allow us to enhance the veterinary care we can provide the farms of the North Country!
