A couple reminders for you: Dr. Lila will be on maternity leave until March, and we will be a little short staffed during this time. Please call ahead 1-2 weeks to schedule routine appointments and make sure to call our main office number for all requests and questions 518-483-6223. 🙂 Additionally, our office will be closed Monday January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Drop ship orders placed Monday will be shipped Tuesday and routine calls and medication requests will be called back on Tuesday. Thank you!

We will be closing at 12 on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas next week. We will also be closed January 1st. As always, we will be available for emergencies during these times Drop ship orders will not ship on December 25 or January 1, so plan accordingly with early orders. Great interview with a colleague from St. Lawrence county about the effect of our mild winters on what changes we are seeing with parasite populations in our livestock species. Worth a listen!

A veterinarian in St. Lawrence County says warmer and wetter weather is helping some parasites become active earlier in the spring and stick around later into the fall.

Our office will be closed Thursday November 28 and Friday November 29 for Thanksgiving. We will be available for emergencies both days, and routine herd checks on friday. Routine scheduling and medication calls will be returned when the office re-opens Monday Decemeber 2. *IMPORTANT: There will be no shipping from our vendors wednesday-friday so if you need medicines this week, get your orders in Monday (today) before 1PM. Dr. Dorothee of Rivendell Animal Care in Lisbon, NY will be having an open house next saturday! There will be a lot of neat demos including a live gastroscopy ("scope") of a horse, a saddle fitting demo, a VSMT (equine chiropractic) demo, and a equine hoof trimming and shoeing demo with farrier Emma Burnham. This is going to be an awesome day celebrating an awesome local horse veterinarian- we hope to see you there =)

We've been really busy with dental exams and floats this spring! Shoutout to our veterinary technician student Brooke for all her help!

Thank you Dr. Lila from North Star Veterinary Services for coming out yesterday to do ultrasounds/ a blood draw on one of our mares and a Dental on one of our other horses, Tai.

We will hear results about Mae’s blood draw soon. Dr. Lila pulled a blood sample to test for cushings disease as no tumors or infections were seen on the ultrasound which was great but still seems like something might be going on as she has just been acting like she’s in heat a lot and not shedding her winter hair out as quick as she should be. Will update more once we know more 💕💕
