Dog Park Friends, just a heads up that tomorrow, Thursday April 27th, from 1:30pm to 2:30 pm we will have about 30 students from Pisgah Forest Elementary School at the dog park helping the City plant some trees for Arbor Day. The park will be open and the children well supervised. Just didn’t want anyone to be surprised!

ATTENTION....We will be closing the Dog Park from March 13 through 17th in order to remove the dead trees. We had hoped that many of these trees would survive the construction of the park but their roots were just too damaged. So, our public works crew will be taking them down during these dates. Sorry for the inconvenience but we need to get this maintenance done.

Update! Found! Someone placed my keys in the brochure holder/lost and found box at the dog park. Thanks to everyone who helped me look for the keys, offered me and my dog a ride home, the posting on Facebook and Parks and Rec and to the person who found them and the person who called me and told me where they were. Thanks so much!!

From a Vet Tech in the area!

Hi, I'm a vet tech in the area. Please avoid dog parks at this time. There is a upper respiratory virus that is not covered by any vaccines in Tennessee and South Carolina. It can progress to pneumonia quickly and is highly contagious. Avoid doggie gatherings at this time!

ATTENTION:

I just received a call to my office about a pit bull attacking other dogs at the dog park. PLEASE CALL THE BREVARD POLICE DEPARTMENT at 883-2212 and report it! This is the best way to get someone there and take care of it and also creates a report of the incident!

Unfortunately, the dog park is still closed. We are due to get heavy rains today so my guess is it will be closed through at least Sunday BUT I could be wrong and I will update here when it opens back up.

Good Morning Everyone,

Did anyone find an Apple airpod case containing the right AirPod at the dog park or at the playground next to it last week? Someone picked it up, because the owner can see and track the address and the owner has registered it as lost.

Hoping the person reads this and returns it. He DOES have the address and can send a letter or go by but I thought we’d try this way first.

Louisville's first dog park bar preparing for grand opening in the Highlands

Ok, we're not planning a bar with our dog park but it is a very creative idea. Relaxing, vacationing etc with your dog is becoming quite the thing! If you are traveling in the Louisville area you might want to check this out. Otherwise just wait a few months and we'll have our own (more traditional dog park) here in Brevard!
