Happy Vet Tech Week!!
This week we take a moment to celebrate our wonderful veterinary technicians and assistants. Thank you for your expertise, your passion, and for your unwavering commitment to animal care. What you do makes a world of difference every day.
Today we would like to highlight Kayla! Kayla joined our team in 2023, and calls herself the "Butterfly" of the clinic since she is always floating around where she is needed, whether its in appointments, surgeries, or the front desk.
Kayla's favorite part about working in the veterinary field is that she is in a position of advocacy for our beloved pets who rely on us to voice their medical needs.
Kayla's tip to pet owners: "Dogs form opinions based on association, make as many of those associations positive experiences when they are puppies by introducing new experiences slowly and with lots of yummy treats!"

Happy Vet Tech Week!!
This week we are showing our appreciation to our amazing veterinary technicians and assistants. From providing essential medical care, to comforting our furry patients, you go above and beyond every day! Thank you for your hard work and resilience.
Today we would like to highlight our vet assistant, Wendy! She has been an essential part of our team since the year 2000, there is a running joke that she "came with the building" since she is the only remaining member of the original team that had been working when Dr. Gamber purchased the practice.
Wendy's favorite part about working in the veterinary field is being able to come in every day and feel like she is a part of a family while working here.
Wendy's tip to pet owners: "Since our pets have a shorter lifespan than us, they age at a much faster pace. It is important to have your pet examined for any changes every 6 months for a biannual screening"

Today we would like to highlight our RVT, Lindsay! Lindsay has been an integral part of our team since 2020.
Lindsay's favorite part about working in the veterinary field is getting to spend each day at work doing what she loves and helping pets in need. Since she was a kid she has dreamed of being in the veterinary field!
Lindsay's tip to pet owners: "Yearly wellness screening and preventative bloodwork is one of the best early indicators of disease in pets"

Spring has sprung! That means longer walks, lots to sniff, and fun activities to enjoy with your best friend. Here are some safety tips to keep in mind when enjoying the weather:

Toxic Plants
Spring is filled with new plants coming to life! However, many plant bulbs like Daffodils, Tulips, Hyacinths, and Iris or bushes like Azalea and Rhododendrons are toxic to dogs and cats! If you're unsure of a plant look it up using the ASPCA plant library https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants?

Fertilizers and Herbicides
As you encourage your newly budding plants, make sure you read the warnings on products. If you need more information call the product's company. Their contact information should be listed right on the packaging. Beware of Cocoa mulch! It is made from the same plant as chocolate and can cause the same problems to your pet as eating chocolate candy would.

Mushrooms
With the spring come mushrooms of all shapes and sizes. And just like with humans, most of them are toxic. It is best to walk the property and remove the mushrooms before letting your pet run free. If your pet does eat a wild mushroom, be sure to call the PetPoison Helpline. Treating mushroom toxicity right away gives the pet the best possible outcome.

Veterinarians crafted miniature snow shoes for a small mockingbird with deformed feet, recently rescued by the California Wildlife Center. The customized shoes aided in realigning its feet, restoring them to a normal bird's foot shape. Within a week, the bird's feet were successfully corrected, allowing it to walk independently.
