I'm also very curious, always ready to explore new things. I'll demand barks when I need something, but I'm also gentle and cuddly, always ready for a good snuggle. Had a great day at Southern Roots Smokehouse! Our sweet hound Cheer Bear was adopted. He went from starving on the streets to a loving home! Thanks to everyone who donated and helped us to save lives!

We are so happy to introduce you all to our newest Humane Education team member, Lindsey Cummings!

Lindsey comes to us with an Animal and Veterinary Science degree from Clemson University, where she helped develop and execute a marine science educational program for elementary-aged students. Her passion and background with both children and animals have made her the perfect addition to our staff!

Lindsey has been with us since September, and is already doing some impressive things, including starting her very own Homeschool Program and leading a variety of other programs including birthday parties, scouts, classroom lessons, and youth volunteering.

I'm Thelma. Not all of us get lucky or easy starts, but life is what we make of it and I'm taking life at full throttle! I spent a couple of months on the street not letting anyone help me until a hurricane came and I decided I needed a home! I was rescued that day and had my first shower inside a house and went to the vet! I loved my new home with a male and female dog and a male cat so much that I decided to surprise my new housemates with puppies! As I regained weight and learned that people can be friends I brought 10 puppies into the world! I raised them all and then my friends at Charleston Animal Society found ALL of my puppies new homes before Christmas.

While I love my foster home, I want nothing more than a home for myself. I do great with other dogs and cats but would be best as a single dog, or in a larger home, due to my past. I am a very sweet lady and I love to be with my humans and my animal friends.

If you're looking for a sweet companion who wants to be with you and will always be loyal, then look no further! I'm waiting to meet you! (XOXO Thelma).

Silas can't wait to go home with a best friend! Silas is the sweetest, most loyal friend you could ask for! While he might start off a bit shy and timid with new faces, once he warms up, his true personality shines. Silas is seven, but don't let that fool you: he's got plenty of pep in his step and loves nothing more than running off-leash in a wide-open field. Fetch is still a bit of a mystery to him (he'll choose a soft toy over a ball any day), but he's always up for a good time in his own way. When playtime winds down, Silas is ready to curl up and enjoy some cozy cuddles. He's the perfect balance of energetic and mellow, and his independent nature means he's fine doing his own thing around other dogs. With a little patience, a calm home, and lots of love, Silas will be a wonderful addition to any family looking for a well-rounded, loyal companion.
