We might be getting buckets of snow but today was an awesome day🎉🎉- First ride back on the wonderful Bacardi FH after he spent most of the winter rehabbing. I have SO missed sitting on this guy- he was perfect even with snow crashing off the roof. Thanks to his wonderful owner .mixed.nuts for baby sitting and handing out some well-deserved cookies.

We had a wonderful clinic with Liz DeLuca. So great to have her come worth with everyone. She is always ready for the variety we bring- ground work, riding, liberty, green horses and school masters. So fun and we all learned a ton.

Sam is an awesome youth pony! Sam is a solid training level pony and has started some first level work. He is very light in the bridle and sensitive to the leg while being very sensible. He is a wonderful teacher and very generous to students. He is my go-to for teaching students how to put a horse on the bit! He is also a very good position lesson pony- steady on the lunge line and unphased if riders flop around finding their balance. He would be a great asset in a lesson program or having a child of his own to teach!



Sam has competed at both recognized shows and local schooling shows. He trailers well and is very good taking youths on their first outing and showing out of the trailer.



Sam is good hacking alone or in a group. He very traffic safe on the road and good riding by cows, sheep, and lamas! He loves a good adventure and will go pretty much anywhere you point! He goes very well in a bit less bridle and is pretty comfy ba****ck. He also long lines and has done a lot of groundwork.



Sam is very easy and safe to handle around the farm and has tons of personality.



He is UTD on everything. He has his USEF Pony Card (145.5cm) and is a registered Arabian (Reg # AHR*634131).

It has been a busy month at Red Clover Dressage! Jamie brought the wonderful Equinox Romulus, and Maya now has the wonderful Elizabeth from McCreary Farm (Sam's breeders)

Addison has come to the Farm for winter training to polish up his dressage so he is ready to event next summer.

It is going ro be a wonderful winter full of great horses and people!

This winter I will be posting “Word of the Week” and we will focus on it throughout the week in lessons and training rides. I hope it generates good discussions and learning though the long Vermont winter! We will begin at the beginning ( as one should) with the base of the dressage training pyramid Rhythm.

As promised - so it rained and I mean, it rained a lot!!! Sam was a little trooper and tried his very best in the lake! Very proud of him, for only his 4th time in the ring.

A Little History

P.J. was born and raised on a dairy farm in the Champlain Valley and was lucky enough to grow up with a fat fluffy shetland pony named Buddy who never did anything she asked. P.J. attended college at the University of Vermont and St. Andrews University, Scotland earning a Masters of Letters in Medieval Studies and currently resides in Charlotte, VT.

P.J. has been a working student for Joy Congdon, owner of Still Point Dressage since 2011. With Joy P.J. earned her USDF Bronze medal in 2013 and has shown through the 4th level. In 2015 P.J. began working at Foxwood Farm assisting in daily care and helping with the Hanoverian breeding operation.

In 2019 P.J. began a partnership with Fairwind Farm located in Monkton, Vermont to offer full and partial training for horse and rider. Fairwind Farm matches P.J. style of a warm and positive atmosphere while offering quality care, ample turnout, indoor and outdoor rings and excellent access to hacking.
