The newest Alumni of our Off Leash Boot Camp program, Sadie the GSP 👏🏻👏🏻 she showed off her fresh skills on graduate day at @bjswholesale before heading home to mom and dad!
If you want your dog to walk like this, text us 📲 we will have room on our schedule for new client consults in the next couple of weeks!
So amazing!! These two good girls are working with us through, what we are calling, an “extended evaluation” this week. They are two pups of a pack of 9 at home - mom, dad, and offspring 🥰 who are all very wonderful dogs, as you can see! We are spending one on one time with a few at a time here at our place for daycare this week - to help us get a sense of them as individuals. That way, we can tailor a program that will best target each dog’s individual needs.
As you can imagine, living with 9 dogs has its challenges and so we are working together with their pawrents to help them reach their training goals! It just goes to show that each family and pack has their own set of unique situations, and we are here to figure out the best way we can help make life more harmonious with your best furiends!
Hey everyone! We are realizing that there are still a lot of people waiting on their fences to be repaired or replaced after Ian… And we are here to say BRING US YOUR DOGS! We have our fencing up and plenty of room for the pups to run - so don’t forget that any of you are welcome to bring them pups over for an overnight or a weekend with us! Let us let them stretch those long muscles and get in a couple training refresher sessions while we are at it! Call or text Shyann or Summit and let us know when you want to drop off our furiends to play!
They will thank you!

Happy Tongues Out Tuesday 👅🦮 feat the best SDiT Winnie the Pooch on the treadmill 🤩💪🏻
‼️PSA‼️- bear with us if you’ve reached out for training info! It has been a long and busy last week or so for us - gearing up for the holiday and training, training, training. You ALL know how that goes! 😅 Much like Winnie, we have been running on the proverbial treadmill over here… BUT We are going to be getting back to everyone this week as we start to talk to candidates for our available slots in December and January! 🎄
Don’t feel bad for checking in with us again if you are super interested in getting into a Boot Camp spot before Christmas! A board and train program, like ours, is the perfect solution if you’re going away for the holidays and have been considering training for your best furiend!

So, how do you get a dog to follow your lead when they don’t give a sh*t about what you are doing on the other end of the leash? Well… Let’s talk about Structured Walks and Handler Focus. As you see in this video, Leo is mostly focused on what moves I am making next - rather than “smelling the roses”. He is consistently “checking-in” with me, is aware of his position next to me, listens attentively to my voice commands, effectively demonstrates duration, and is extremely happy and willing to do so! Handler Focus is PARAMOUNT to ANY dogs’ training program. Without reliable Focus, we get nowhere.
Often times, this is a HUGE missing link in many of our relationships with our dogs. We need to open up the line of communication BOTH WAYS during our walks - and during training sessions in general. Implementing obedience, boundaries, and focus drills while on and off the leash will CHANGE YOURS AND YOUR DOGS’ LIVES!
We aren’t taking the “fun” out of our daily walks; we just aren’t going to allow our canine companions to think one-sided about what that “fun” may look like - rather, teach them that focusing on what I am doing as a Handler is the direction that they should follow. At the end of the day, it is the Handler’s responsibility to show their dog that the “fun” is actually in effectively interacting with YOU! NOT in the many distractions that the world likes to throw at us.
Happy Sunday! Winston supervises to make sure the chicks get their dried cranberries and grapes 🍇🍒 can’t cheat a chick out of treats! 🐥🐥🐥🐥 🥰 our homegrown chicks are doing great and getting big! We are so happy with what they are bringing to the flock.
Having the flock is great for use as distractions and getting the dogs desensitized to bird activity. Which is helpful when you have a house full of Retrievers and Shepherds 😅 they are also super calming to just stand around and watch. Kind of like a fish tank, except smellier 🤷🏻♂️
I feel as though I’ve learned so much about them by just taking the time to sit with them and watch their interactions - thus is the same concept in training all animals… Sometimes you need to abandon what you think you know, and just step back and observe what is in front of you - to figure out the best ways to move forward! ⭐️
Anyone else out on the Agility Course this fine Saturday morning!? @chaucerthegolden was putting in his reps across our cat walk 💪🏻
On that note, we are hoping to have some new agility obstacles out on our field this Winter! 🤞🏻Stay tuned!
Take a trick from Stormy’s book: Don’t let distractions stop you from staying focused on the tasks at hand today! 🦆⛈ #motivationmonday

Sir Nelson has been working on adding some new behaviors to his Rolodex the last few weeks - he is an extremely intelligent dog that has a mind of his own sometimes, so challenging him on a daily basis is extremely important for his (and my) general sanity!
This is day 1 of running a 2 blind search pattern! Eventually we will be running up to 6 - but like everything in Dog Training - Crawl, Walk, Run! It’s important to slow things down, break down the behaviors for the dogs, and get them right BEFORE you speed them up. Don’t immediately ask for speed and precision - once you get precision, the speed will come.
Service Dog in Training Winston working on generalizing his voice commands, responsiveness, and Handler Focus in Public Settings.👌🏻
Since we are on a roll of posting training videos - here’s Service Dog in Training Winston working on generalizing his voice commands, responsiveness, and Handler Focus in Public Settings. Peep that crisp down-in-motion, in mid-recall! 👌🏻
Who votes for us to post training videos more often? 😅🙋🏻♂️
Boot Camper Wolf came to us with some dog reactivity - this is a week and a half into his Boot Camp Program! With each Boot Camper, their Training Program is customized to exactly what each individual Dog and Family need! So, check Wolf out practicing his self-control around another dog, and demonstrating neutrality - which is extremely important to his program! Can’t wait to see what his progress looks like at his 3 week mark!

The training never stops around here. Getting in some late basic positional reps in with Storm ⛈ last night. This dog has been absolutely killing his program 👀 look at that focus and correctness - not to mention that prance 🐎 🤩

Sebastian and Stormy took their first adventure with Sebastian behind the leash today! We have gone from Sebastian not feeling confident at all when interacting with Stormy, to this! I know it may not seem like much from the outside - but this is another big step to integrating Stormy into an extremely important role in Sebastian’s life!
