A new session of Civics begins and we are focusing on the judicial system of our government. Over the next six weeks, we will be participating in a mock trial as we learn about our court systems. Have you ever considered the wolf's side of the story in the Three Little Pigs? We will be preparing our cases, all the key players of a trial, and our jury will decide!

Kicking off our new Ecology session: Rainforests!
We will be learning about these regions of biodiversity, how and why they are under threat, and developing a conservation campaign and/or product.

Presentation Day! Wednesday Ecology students shared their research projects covering countries of the Sahara Desert. We learned about the climate, flora, fauna, and culture of this region. Each group served a traditional food from their country and shared visual and oral reports.

We also enjoyed a fabulous student-led production of the musical Frozen, directed, produced, scenery, and costumes created 100% by students! Way to go Farm School!!

Civics students began our lesson on the legislative branch where we will be walking through the process for our very own 28th amendment.

We braved Florida Winter! Ecology students kicked off our session about desert climates. We are going to focus on the Sahara and the ecology and culture of the countries within.

We also chose new interest-led workshops for the next six weeks. We've got some old favorites like sports and cooking... and new additions such as set design, embroidery, and board games!

Brrr cold, but I think the rain will be minimal.

Dress warm- though I know some of our kiddos ended up in short sleeves yesterday when the sun came out! Hoping for a peek of sun today!

Farm School!

The rain has stopped here, and it looks like the sun will peek out around 10am with temps into the 50s, so we are still ON for Farm School today!

Please dress warm, and wear water tight shoes/boots if you have them ... we did get a fair bit of rain and are a little soggy today. But Farm School kids are tough! Today we begin our African Savana unit today ๐Ÿคฃ so think warm thoughts!
