Sandhopper was trapped and saved in New Haven by a Yale University Police officer. Her mother Hopper and four siblings also were rescued at the time. The five-week-old kittens had a severe upper respiratory infection, conjunctivitis and multiple parasites. When the family first arrived at the shelter, Hopper was friendly, but her babies were hissing at everyone. Now that the kittens feel much better and can see again, they are beginning to trust humans and are settling in. They finished their treatment for various parasites and for a fungal infection and are ready for adoption. Indeed, Sandhopper and one of her brothers have already gone home with their new families! Thanks to your support, all six of these healthy cats will soon have happy forever families and homes.

Sweet Godiva has officially found her forever home! 💕
From the day she arrived at The Animal Haven with a severe skin condition, through months of treatments and care, to blossoming into the beautiful, healthy, and gentle soul she is today — Godiva has captured so many hearts along the way. 🐾
We are overjoyed to share that she has now been adopted into a loving family who will give her the life she truly deserves. 🏡❤️

The Animal Haven is looking for a hidden gem 💎

We have decided to transform one of our rooms into a surgical suite in order to be able to do our surgeries (spay, neuters and dentals) in house.

In order to do that, we need to find a veterinarian willing to work with us 10-15h every week. We're more than happy to work around your schedule to make this happen! 🐾

The vet will perform all of our exams, surgeries, vaccines, bloodwork and more. This is a great opportunity to help a good cause and practice shelter medicine with an amazing team of people ❤️

Isn't he the most handsome boy? 🥹

Peanut is a little bit of a challenge, but he has so much love to give. He needs a home without young children or other pets because he doesn't quite realize how big he is and has a tendency to chase cats. He might be able to live with another confident dog with proper introduction.

You may remember us talking about nine-month-old Godiva, who was dumped and rescued in North Haven. She came to The Animal Haven with a terrible skin condition that looked like mange. Godiva's skin condition was not only very unattractive, but it caused her unbearable itchiness and discomfort.

Thanks to your support, we were able to bring Godiva to a veterinary dermatologist who diagnosed and treated her severe allergies and bacterial and yeast skin infections and found the one antibiotic that was able to beat her multi-resistant staphylococcus. Godiva is now recovered, although she will need to stay on yeast preventative and anti-allergy drugs for life to prevent a reoccurrence.

Godiva is not only the sweetest and most laid-back dog -- in love with cats, dogs, children, and adults -- she is now as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. And just recently, after more than a year at the shelter, Godiva was adopted into a wonderful, loving home!
