Greta came in for her spaw day complete with deshed , blow out , ears cleaning, nail trim , blow dry and paw balm treatment ! Every groom is finished with a decompression walk and most pups fall asleep during blow dry Greta decided to lay down during hers .

Another Dog of honor delivery successful ! Luna got to strut her stuff down the aisle for her humans big day! Klines K-9 Academy will cover pick up , handling and drop off for your big day! Congratulations Marina and John!

Max did fantastic on his social/exposure day today! The focus was leash skills, decompression in anxiety inducing situations, disengaging from triggers and focusing on handler.

Reminder for the Holiday
Have you’re dogs indoors early this week, update ID tags/microchips, if you are able put them in a basement to lessen noise , Benadryl (original not soft gels) can be given 1mg per pound of body weight for calming, tabs are typically 25 mg each , cat nip can be given for calming also, vets can prescribe trazadone if your dog requires something stronger , lick mats , kongs , fans , frozen food bowls , wear them out during the day so they’re tired at night . Cover their kennels with a thick blanket, give highly preferred bones or chews to entice licking or chewing .

Stuart got into a sticky situation and rolled in pine sap his owners hope was that he wouldn’t need shaved unless necessary so we avoided the need for shaving and got him squeaky clean !

Welcome Dutchess, Elton, and Buddy to the academy! Elton is a 15 month old Irish wolfhound , Dutchess is a 6 year old greyhound and Buddy is 5 year old terrier mix !

Looking for some boredom busters to help your pups beat the heat? We’ve got you covered ! Some of our pups favorite include frozen food bowls(bonus points if it’s a puzzle bowl) frozen kongs and lick mats even a frisbee will work! (peanut butter , yogurt, pumpkin, salmon oil , dry food softened in bone broth get creative 🙌🏼) mix it up with smashed bananas blueberries any dog safe fruit vegetables or snack) , you can put their food bowl in a tub of water and let them splash around great for enrichment bonus points if it’s frozen bone broth , give them an obstacle course of lick mats, snuffle mats, puzzle feeders, bones and have multiple options throughout the house to help burn off some energy ! Reminder when dogs are panting they are cooling down do not offer water if you see a shoveled tongue or ripples on their tongue they need to cool down before drinking or it can cause additional issues .

Welcome Minnie and Cinder to the academy Zoey’s siblings! We did an in home visit to prepare Minnie for grooming as she can be nervous and Cinder isn’t a fan of nail trims but he got all four feet done with no issues and Minnie made a new human friend !

Miss Mya working on muzzle training and exposure today to focus on neutrality and accepting the muzzle for longer periods of time she has occasional dog aggression and comes in 2-3 days a week to work with other dogs .

Miley came in for her spa day today deshed bath , nail trim, dremel, paw balm treatment and a blow dry safe to say by the look of her mid groom nap she enjoyed herself ! Stress free grooming at its finest !

Tank is Trucks best friend and they were so happy to have a 3 week sleepover ! In addition to multiple daily walks and playtime with humans he got to play with his bestfriend tank , new friend Xena and one of our favorite pups Lucy!

Morning conversation between the boys #rottweiler #husky

As always the balance between focus work and decompression is key in a well rounded dog . Kaiser got to have his sister JJ come for today’s session at the park with tons of people taking prom pictures and fishing .

Neo did some amazing distraction work at the softball fields today ! As a service dog having a focus on his owner is key as well as being able to follow commands and send off like this in emergency situations his bond with his dad is unbreakable 🙌🏼 we practiced send offs to mom and dad with kids and dogs running around utilizing his focus over distraction impulse control

Xena leash skills have greatly improved since her rescue !

Kaisers owners requested him to learn “go lay down” so that is exactly what he did in todays session .

RJ board and train loose leash skills

RJ is making great progress during his board and train with us!

RJ s first social/exposure session and he did great ! I was asked if he was a service dog and said he is not he’s on his first day of his board and train so he is passing with flying colors so far and continues to build his confidence and self control working through distractions he is highly praise motivated !

Kaiser making amazing progress with his anxiety around new people when out of town family visited this week!

I got the sweetest gift from Neo and his dad!

Kaiser making strides in his exposure and reactivity training ! Seeing as cats were a major trigger for him and there are a lot in his neighborhood roaming freely he was a major barker and lunger , this session he was easily redirected , he had increased confidence , curiosity and eye contact . Owners are doing great with him outside of sessions 🙌🏼

Check out Neos progress ! Him and his dad are working through distractions, increasing duration of skills, successful targeting of items , multiple steps to complete the task - which includes the sit to signal the task is completed , next up is adding more distance , higher level distractions , and new items. Keep up the great work ! Neo is able to redirect himself back to task when presented with distractions and complete his task and gets so excited when he does !
