Oh, I’ve had such a hard difficult past, I have probably never had a home of my own and I’m so tired and done with that stressful life… the cold, the hunger, the fear- it’s so hard to discuss because it brings back so many heartaches and it makes me sad. . Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Adam. I am a five year old gray and white male. I am very scared right now and trying to adjust to things here at the shelter. I was out on the streets. Fending for myself, when a Good Samaritan got me to ocean state the end of December. The people at ocean state treated me and knew I deserved a chance, and contacted the people here at the shelter to give me some shelter and stability, as it’s so so hard out on the streets. . I am very food motivated and love tube squeeze up treats, as you can see. Who knows what my try personality will be like, once I learn I can trust humans and fully open up. I think I have the potential to be sweet, if someone will just give me a chance! . Loving peaceful settings, a calm environment where I can relax and learn to love and be loved, is what I wish for. What I’d like for my home is adults only, no dogs and no children, and I probably want to be the only cat. . A quiet home is really what I long for. I’m a handsome boy and I just like to take nice naps, in a quiet home. . There’s one more thing I have to tell you, I tested positive for FIV, So I could just be carrying the gene for FIV, but it was a positive result. But either way FIV is not something that should stop anyone from adopting me. I can live a Long and normal life, and even live with another cat that does not have it, as the only way to transmit it is through a deep bite wound. I really wanna be your boy!! Please Please give me a chance as I so deserve a wonderful home of my own. I don’t want to be here at the shelter , I want to go to a loving home !!

How do you feel about a distinguished and handsome older gentleman? Well I happen to be the sweetest!!I Hi, I’m Sebastian and I am 17 years old. I am a handsome social fella and I have only one eye, and that eye I can’t really see out of. But don’t worry, I do just fine walking around and using my litter box, and eating and rubbing up against other felines and rubbing up against humans for some love time. I’m a very sweet and gentle boy and love to be around you!! I just soak up attention and patting and love, and will rub against you and work hard to get and keep your attention!! . I have the most gorgeous coat. I get along fine with other cats. In fact, I came in here with four other cats when my owner passed away. I just arrived at the shelter in January, so I am still going through some intake steps, but I will be ready for my forever home in a matter of days. I am neutered and up-to-date on my vaccines, and I am so ready to bust out of here and be your loving companion. Please put in an adoption application and come meet me. Remember the large 27 cat intake we did last month? Well 5 of the females there were pregnant…WHAT- shocker, right…as none were spayed and neutered?!? Well Mittens who is one of the 3 of 5, who are in a foster home, is one who is with Jo- who has fostered for us for well over a year and who is a volunteer foster coordinator- has Mittens.
Sweet Mittens called for her yesterday…and pawed at the door- and sure enough when Jo went in, she settled and was having full on contractions. First baby was tough , breach and a difficult birth, only the back foot and tail out….but Mittens was a trooper and Jo stayed right by her side-
5 babies born yesterday. Congratulations sweet Mittens and welcome to the world adorable babies😻😻. Obviously these are no where near ready for inquiries or applications or holds, but just sharing the miracle of birth. 🐾❤️. Enjoy these one day old little cuties and great job Mittens and Jo. 😻. Hard to imagine how I can be so incredibly sweet and social and loving- given the horror of my past. Hi- I am handsome Bagherra and I’m estimated to be between 2-4 years old. I am a social sweetheart that has so much love to give. My past is awful- I was left abandoned by my family- yup that’s right- they up and left without taking me or my cat friend that lived with me. with them. Instead we were left to fend for ourselves and struggled to keep warm and food in our bellies. Thank goodness a wonderful woman knew of our situation and got us to shelters. My cat friend went to a different place and was already adopted, and I’m here at this nice shelter. The home I had did have a child and a dog, also. There was also an older male teenager who was known for not being so nice. It was so bad that my former cat companion is still afraid of men. This nice woman would feed me, and let me spend a couple hours warming up in her car on those really cold days- as you can see by my pictures. I was so grateful to her and I would look for her at all hours of the day and night. I took up residence under her porch where she had a straw bed for me and food and water. She has 3 cats of her own, so she couldn’t take me in herself… but she checks in on me often with the volunteers here. She described me as extremely sweet and loving,, and that’s how everyone here describes me too. I just want a loving quiet home where I can love my owner(s) and be loved back. I think I will do fine with other friendly pets and children and just ask for a slow and patient and supervised introduction- with all I have been through! I will be all up to date on everything- vaccinations and ensuring I’m neutered, by January 29th and then will be so ready to have a forever home of my own.
