Scruffy
This Maine Coon mix beauty is up for adoption.
Meet Scruffy.
Oh this is hard for me, as things have been challenging and difficult. Hi- Iām Scruffy and Iām part Maine Coon- Iām sweet once I get to know you- but Iām scared and shy - and enjoy patting once I feel safe and get over my fear. . Iām 8 years old and I was surrendered with my 8 year old pretty sister, Babe, who Iām not bonded with her at the shelter. I mean I like her just fine- but we do our own things and donāt snuggle or cuddle together. She is much more scared than I am and will hiss allot and run so no one will touch her. I am more of a sweetheart who enjoys patting and love- although when I first meet you I may do a little hiss, but thatās all- then Iām fine and you can pat me. Itās because Iām scaredā¦ so much has changed and my world turned upside down. Itās hard for us older girls, to have a home for so long and then to be in a shelter. Our owner could no longer care for us, thatās why we are here. But we do have a large kennel with a catio outside, that I was just brave enough to venture out to this week for the first time!! Itās so much better than a smaller cage. I am beautiful and have gorgeous eyes, and my coat has that Maine Coon look to it- and I do a pretty good job of keeping myself groomed! I want to feel safe and secure in a new loving home of my own. I would want an owner(s) to be patient with me, as I will need time to fully blossom. A quiet home would be best, maybe no dogs or small children, as loud noises scare me. Please come meet me and take me to your loving fabulous home!! You can adopt just me, or both myself and my sister Babe.
OK Scruffy , our turn! This is one absolutely adorable girl, who has had a hard time adjusting to shelter life. She is sweet and enjoys petting, but is scared and shy. She is a beauty, and will just need time and patience and love to fully blossom, and show her true personalities. She will need a quiet and patient home
Jackson
This 11 year old we now have let out of his cage, and he is such a social chatty lovebug. He already touched a wonderful supporter and past adopter of ours, Brooke, who has done a pay it forward for him and the right adopter and homešš»
Meet Jackson.
I apologize - Iām just a little shy right now and I know it shows in my pictures. Itās hard when your whole world is turned upside down, and you are 11 years old and donāt know what is happening. Hi, my name is Jackson. I have been here at the shelter before , 2 years ago. I was adopted and loved , but my owner got very sick and couldnāt care for my any more. Iām sweet and handsome and have a special look to me, because of my ears. As a younger cat, I probably suffered from severe ear mites- thus the calcified cauliflower ears that our manager Donna, says makes me āspecialā and look like a Scottish fold. I am very sweet, but certainly confused as to why I am iback at the shelter. Like many adult cats, who have had their world turned upside down, itās a scary and confusing time. Even though I am a little confused and shy now, donāt let that fool youā¦. I am a sweet boy who enjoys petting and being loved by the staff/volunteers, it feels so good and makes me happy. I want to feel safe and secure and then my loving personality will come shining though, please just give me a chance. Am so handsome and I am gentle and loving,. I just want to get out of the cage and shelter into a loving quiet home. Please come meet me and bring me to your forever home for me.. And guess what, a wonderful woman who fell in love with me, and wanted to help me- PAID my adoption fee for the right owner- isnāt that wondeful?!?!
OK cutie, our turn! He is adorable and sweet and confused right now. He so deserves a loving home where he can feel safe and blossom. If interested, the first step is to go to our web site and fill out an adoption application at: thepetrefuge.org and print and fill it out and email back to

Oh itās hard for an adult cat like me to have a home for a long time, and then I donāt- so even with all those big changes- Iām an absolute sweetheart!!! Hi my name is Lilly and Iām pretty and sweet , just like my name!! Iām a beautiful tiger girl who loves attention and i will take all the patting you will give me and I also like to be held and give a hug!! Iām 5 years old. My home before was a little stressful with 2 young children coming in and leaving lots of things around, thot was stressful for me , and I had a little accident time to time and would pee on the clothes that were left on the floor. I hope to get a loving wonderful home where I am able to love my owners so much and be loved back in return. I will be your sweetheart and I could also be a great emotional support animal for you- Iām calming and gentle and so loving!! Please give me a chance as I so deserve a wonderful home of my own. 11 year old Jackson is back with us, his owner adopted him 2 years ago from us , and has had significant health issues so can no longer care for him. Heās very sweet, but certainly confused as to why he is back at the shelter.
If we canāt get him adopted soon, weād like to place him in a quiet loving foster home. If interested in fostering, please email Chrissy at [email protected]

Al & Ed
No, they arenāt bonded at all š¤£š¤£š„°. Up for adoption and being oh so cute todayā¦.
Meet Al & Ed Bonded brothers.
Well how do you do, howād you like to have 2 amazing young adult male cutie pie brothers to share your life with?!!! Look no more- here we are!!! Hi, Iām Ed, and my brother is Al- the one with a spot on his nose. We are 2 years old and we have been described as āwell behaved, sweet and gentle babies who are total sweethearts- so loving and sweetā. Well, I am not going to argue that- that is spot on!!!! My brother Al is a little bit more shy than I am, and he relies on me as he adjusts to the shelter, and I make sure he feels loved and protected, as I donāt want him to feel scared. They are so nice to us here, but we really want a forever home to be loved in, and where we can love back in return. See we had a home, but then things changed with the landlord, and we were no longer able to stay.. it broke everyoneās hearts, and especially ours. So Al was told he had a little heart murmur when he was younger, so this is they type of thing a very young cat (like him) can outgrow as they reach adulthood- so itās worth noting as this may no longer be an issue at ALL, and isnāt something we want to stop anyone from adopting us!! We are all up to date and neutered and so ready to bust out of the shelter and into a wonderful forever home! We think we would do fine with friendly children that arenāt too noisy , and other friendly pets- just as long as we are supervised for those initial meetings! Did I mention we are so handsome, with our luxurious medium haired orange coats- we are quite something to look at for sure!!! Please come meet us and bring is to your forever home for me..
OK cuties, our turn! They are so handsome and adorable and sweet! . They do deserve a loving home together!! If interested, the first step is to go to our web site and fill out an adoption application at: thepetrefuge.org and print and fill it out and ema
Lilo
Hi- you might remember me- Iāve been up for adoption for a while and spent allot of my time hiding at the shelter. Iām Lilo and I have allot to tell you!! Reminder Iām 5 years old and was surrendered because of a family allergy. I was put in a foster home to see if I would blossom there, as the shelter was a bit stressful for me at times.
I've been in my foster home for two weeks now and have been exploring the entire house. When I first got here, I hid under the bed, and was scared to come out. The world has totally opened up for me now!!My favorite things to do are to snuggle on the bed when my foster mom goes to bed. I like to sleep right next to her neck, and nuzzle up to her. Sometimes I will even sleep on her belly.
My favorite toy is a little spongy ball that I chase around the house. I also love to chase a red pointer light around the room. I'm pretty smart I figured out that when I hear the sound of the refrigerator door opening, it means I might get a treat. I love to rub against my foster momās legs and purr.
I'm nimble, with a cute little meow, and I love attention and show my appreciation with my adorable purr. I think I would really like a quiet home where maybe I can be the only pet that gets spoiledš»I would so love a forever home.
Please submit an adoption application for me, found on our website, thepetrefuge.org and fill out and email to [email protected]. Please share me and my story so I can get a home soon šā¤ļø
Benito
This little darling has graduated to allowing (and liking ) FULL body petting now- heās amazing. Guess we need to re write his bio on PetFinder (which is a great thing and we will do)..š»
Meet Benito.
Itās so hard for me to write this because Iām scared and afraid and that makes me unhappy and sad . Hi, my name is Benito. I am a handsome black male about one year old, and I had a challenging life so far which has made me a little skittish and untrusting. The cage made that worse. So now these nice people at the shelter moved me to a big kennel that I share with a buddy, and I have an outside catio- and Iām so much happier. Now I take tube treats right from peoples hands and then they were able to finally pat me at that time. It felt so good. I want to love and be loved , so they are working hard with me, to make me feel safe and loved. so now Iām not as scared as I was. Plus I LOVE tube squeeze tube treats, so that will definitely make me want to be your friend! I want to trust and I want to open up- Iām just afraid Iāll have my heart broken again. Itās hard when youāre in your own and I canāt tell you about my past, that makes me like I am now. But I bet if you give me time and love and patience, I can blossom into a great pet and companion. I just need someone to believe in me and give me a chance. My ideal household would be quiet, no kids or other pets, and an owner who gets cats. Someone who can give me time to adjust, on my terms. I was really sweet with my vet tech when I just had my recent neuter procedure. They told me I was very sweet and I really enjoyed being Pet that day because I was scared. Wonāt you be that person and give me the chance I long for.
Ok Benito, our turn! He was having a hard time here at the shelter and now that we moved him, he allows us to Pat him now and the key to his heart is squeeze up treats- he loves them!! He needs a patient loving home that he can adjust and blossom in. He was sweet with the vet
