Join us in showering our resident cat, Star, who is expecting kittens anytime now, as well as our other kittens at the North Kingstown Animal Shelter. As adorable as these babies are, they like to eat a lot and know very well how to make a mess! Therefore we are in need of kitten food and cleaning supplies.

For every generous person to donate, we will enter their name into a raffle basket to win! You do not need to be present during the shower hours, in fact any donation received from now until the night of August 31st will be entered into the drawing! If you would like to do an online donation we have PayPal and square, links listed below, to donate on. Please note "kitten shower" so we know to enter your name.

🐾 We would like to send a great big thank you to our friend Senna for her most recent donation to the shelter. For those that may not know, Senna hand makes dog collars (super cute ones!) and sells them markets/fairs and at Yes Gallery in Wickford. She then donates a large portion of the proceeds to the animal shelter. We are so thankful for her generosity. Thank you Senna!! 🐾💕

**Adoption Pending **

Milo really needs to get out of the shelter and into a home, even if just a temporary foster home. Please read the rest of this post and if you think you may be able to help this kiddo out, please contact us. Shelter life can be tough on dogs and Milo is feeling the stress. Milo has been at the shelter for several months now, which isn't a reflection on him, he's a lovely dog. But recently he has become a little afraid of people he doesn't know which is only going to make it harder for him to find a home. Getting a break from shelter life can do wonders for a dog's spirit. Milo has previously lived with another dog and seems to like the other dogs at the shelter and we think perhaps he's missing having a dog buddy to lean on. We would prefer to place Milo in a home with another dog but meet and greet with a resident dog would be required. We do not want to place him in a home with young kids, as he seems to be more nervous of them. Milo loves car rides, going for walks and snuggling.

🐾This sweet girl is still available for adoption. If you're looking for a calm, quiet companion (although she does talk to us a little) this could be your girl. Cassie has not lived with other animals or kids and is looking for a home on the quiet side🐾

Cassie is an 8 year old Torti who found herself at the shelter after her owner had to go into a nursing home due to declining health. In Cassie's previous home environment, it was just she and her owner so Cassie is used to a pretty quiet living environment. Cassie was quite shy and reserved when she first arrived at the shelter but she has been slowly coming out of her shell. She will let us know when she'd like to have some attention and company but she also needs her space to be respected. Cassie has not lived with dogs, other cats or kids. Cassie may be open to sharing a home with another similarly aged cat who matches her energy and personality, preferably a male. We are not inclined to place Cassie in a home with a dog or young children.

🐾 This girl is a trip! Adoptable Sandy!!🐾

🐾 Introducing Sandy or as we affectionately call her, Wild Whacky Action Dog! You'll notice all the photos of her are action shots. This girl is BUSY doing all the things! Chasing the tennis ball? Her favorite! Playing tug? Also her favorite!
Running and doing zoomies with an occasional roll in the grass? Another favorite! So, yeah this kiddo is pretty active. She's also very funny and very sweet. And, she does settle down when her needs have been met.
Sandy is about 2 years old, is spayed and current on vaccinations. She has had positive, friendly interactions with some of the other dogs at the shelter but we cannot be certain whether she wants to share a home with another dog. A meet and greet with the resident dog would be required and resident dog should be comparable in size to Sandy, who's just about 20lbs.

*Update: Caught and safe at NKAS*
Does anyone recognize this sweet kitty from the Plum Point Road/Spindrift Drive area. No collar/no microchip. We have been unable to catch at this time but it is friendly. Could have possibly belonged to someone who passed away in this neighborhood and a few neighbors have been feeding since March 2024. He scratched a neighbor while they were petting it and we are looking for the owners for rabies status.

Found today on Wickford Point Road. Currently safe with food and water at the NK Animal Shelter. Sweet older kitty, declawed front paws, female spayed, with no tag, no collar, and no micro chip. Was treated at the vet for a wound of unknown origin, looking for owners.

Mookie is missing from the North Quidnessett/Mount View Area from this morning 7/24. He is a border collie with a collar on with tags. We have been out looking for him but haven’t had any sightings since early this morning, on the golf course near the condos. If you live in that area, please check your garages in case he snuck in there.

Found on July 18th in the area of East Shore Road/Bridgeview Drive by good samaritans concerned about her well being. After spending the evening with the Jamestown Police, this cutie has been transferred to North Kingstown Animal Shelter in hopes that someone is looking for her (or him).
