We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Murphy is officially starting her maternity leave! 🎉 We couldn’t be happier for her as she embarks on this exciting new chapter.
While Dr. Murphy is away, we want to assure all of her patients that they will continue to receive the highest level of care. Our wonderful team of doctors, including the talented Dr. Mahoney, who will be joining us one day a week as our relief vet, is here to ensure a smooth transition. It's that time of week again—let's get into the Thanksgiving spirit with another animal-friendly recipe! This one is specially designed for our feline friends. We’d love to hear how they like it! 🐾

Frozen Salmon & Catnip Cat Treats
Ingredients:

1/2 cup cooked salmon (flaked and boneless)
1 tbsp plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt (optional, for texture)
1 tsp dried catnip (don't skimp on this—your cat will notice!)
1 egg (binds everything together)
1/4 cup oat flour (or regular flour if you don’t have oat flour on hand)

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) if you want to bake a few first, or just go straight to freezing if you're skipping the oven.
In a bowl, combine the cooked salmon, Greek yogurt (if using), catnip, and egg. Mash everything together until it's a solid mixture.
Slowly add the oat flour, mixing until you form a dough. It should be moist but firm enough to hold together.
Roll the dough into small balls or press it into molds (silicone ice cube trays work great for this!).
Bake for 10-12 minutes if you want them a little firmer, or freeze them right away for an extra chilly treat your cat can enjoy.
Let them cool completely before serving.
Serve a couple of these frozen bites as a special treat, and watch your cat go wild for the salmon-catnip combo. These are perfect for keeping your pet entertained and satisfied.

Notes:

Be sure to serve these treats in moderation since salmon is rich in protein and fats.
Always check with your vet if you're unsure about any ingredient, especially if your cat has dietary restrictions.
Some cats love these frozen, while others prefer them slightly thawed for a softer texture!

🎉 The Countdown to Thanksgiving Begins! 🦃🍂

Now that the spooky season has come to a close, we're officially counting down to Thanksgiving — and we couldn't be more thankful for YOU! 🙏❤️

We know the holidays can be a time of sharing… but when it comes to your pets, some of those delicious table treats just aren’t safe. 🦷 So, to keep your pets included in the festivities, we’re excited to share Pet-Friendly Thanksgiving Recipes all month long! 🧁🎉

First up: Pumpkin Pup-Pies! 🎃 These homemade treats are safe, healthy, and guaranteed to make your pet’s tail wag with joy! 🐕

**Ingredients:
• 1 cup unsweetened pumpkin puree
• 1 egg
• 1/4 cup peanut butter (make sure it’s xylitol-free!)
• 2 cups whole wheat flour (or gluten-free alternative)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a bowl, mix together the pumpkin, peanut butter, and egg.
3. Gradually add the flour until the dough comes together.
4. Roll dough out and use a cookie cutter to shape the treats.
5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
6. Let cool before serving to your furry friend!**

🐾 Meet Our New Furry Friend! 🐾

We’re excited to introduce our newest Wickford Vet Clinic's foster friend, Bumper! This brave little soul was rescued by Coventry Animal Control, and is now under the incredible care of Dr. Lorenson and Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue!

As we help him heal, we want to give back to the wonderful shelter that saved him. They work tirelessly to care for animals in need, and they can only continue their amazing work with our support. Once Bumper is medically ready he will be looking for his purrfect forever home. If you or someone you know is interested in this little lovebug please reach out! (More pictures and videos available upon request- Facebook will only let us post so much!)
