We took advantage of this beautiful fall day to get some cross country schooling in at twin towers before we head to Kentucky in October.

This weekend was quiet and different. We took a couple horses and showed off the trailer for an easy day.

**🐴🐴Our newest little show member Scarlett got thrown into the big ring for the FIRST time on old trustee Briggs and got 6th in her under saddle!! She was so excited she grinned ear to ear. She got to test out ground poles too and had an absolute blast. 🐴🐴

Pros of the day:
Abby and Hotti pulled a 3rd in ground poles classic
Izzy and Turk placed fifth in under saddle and took 1st in their first over fences class.
Abby took 1st in under saddle with Briggs and two fifths in over fences.

Cons for the day:
Someone took a spill and is now the proud “boo boo pony” leader once again. (Pro it’s on video and whether they’re fine or crippled as long as you taped it the kids are cool with it)
One horse came out of their flat class and with their shoe hanging by a thread and had to scratch.
One child forgot completely where they were going in a course because a horse turned into a rocket donkey 😂

it was definitely not about the ribbons this weekend but experiences and good laughs.
You would never be a great rider if you were not sometimes humbled by the fact that horses have their own brains and that counting strides really does in fact work.

Day one of mini camp!
These kiddos gave us a run for our money 😂

We played the horse version of red light green light, brushed, played around the world and did a small obstacle course.

They wanted to meet the pigs, chickens, and duckies and we spent a lot of time running off our energy up and down the hill!

Day two of quiet camp!
the rain brought the sleepy out but we painted horse shoes, spent time with our horse picks for the day (Tyrone and prince), worked on steering and stretching on the horses and had a nice afternoon coloring and feeding.

The horses never cease to amaze me how quiet they become when the kiddos need them 🫶🏻

Day one of our quiet camp. We have a small group this week but they had fun!
We had meet and greet with all the horses, got to ride, give prince a bath and grazed horses.

Brushing and cuddling was their favorite part 🫶🏻

Day two- we have state qualifiers!!

Abby and Briggs qualified in English showmanship, HUS, equitation, working hunter over fences, equitation over fences, and hunter hack.

Makenna and Major qualified in HUS, working hunter over fences, eq over fences, and hack.

Angel and Shadow qualified in ground roping and ranch horsemanship.

as I sit here and wait for the children to pack their belongings and load up to head home I reflect on the weekend. My kids had no tears, no bad moods, and no bad attitudes. They were helpful to one another, supported one another, helped each other in every way possible. We had new little ones trying new things and they came with open arms and support good bad or indifferent.

Sometimes we don’t have the best rides or the best days but this weekend they all came together and worked as a team and their hard work paid off tremendously.

Their respect towards people and judges amazes me. Horse showing is not for the weak especially when it is hot outside and everyone is tired. My kids big and little exceeded all my expectations this weekend and they all get a gold star in my book.

Even though it’s never about the ribbons I’m so proud of all of them for bringing home something to show their efforts have paid off.

Thank you to our judges and all the volunteers, parents, show moms and show dads this weekend that didn’t have to but did anyways for these kids. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed either. 🫶🏻

13 horses, 9 kids and 12 hours later we're done with the educational show! Everyone had a fantastic day and we cleaned house!! We're all exhausted, but we're back at it again tomorrow for the state qualifying show.

Then ending the day with feeding horses lunch and of course the bounce house!

Last day of camp was successful!
Fed horses their breakfast as our chore, decorated our horse shoes and put on a mini show ❤️

Tonight and this weekend full of horse show judging then next week back at it again with mini campers Monday at 930 🐴

Camp day 4!

We fed the horses the cookies we made earlier in the week, learned how to measure horses using hands, rode through some obstacle courses, cleaned some brushes and finished out the day in the bouncy castle.

Last day of camp is tomorrow!
