On a clear day, our picturesque Colony Acres serves as an impressive backdrop of rural Iowa, all within a thriving urban community. Throughout the farm, you’ll encounter freshly grown pick-your-own pumpkins, a challenging corn maze, kids’ activities, and endless photo inspiration.

As the farm rests during the off-season, we’ve been looking back on some of the newest offerings that we added last year...

🎃 Our Pumpkin House: The ultimate fall photo spot! So many smiles and memories captured here
🚂 The New Barrel Train: Seeing kids (and adults!) laugh and enjoy the ride was unforgettable.
🍋 Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade: A refreshing favorite for warm autumn days (and there were many of those last season!)
🍏 Apple Nachos: Sweet, gooey, and absolutely delicious, an irresistible treat!
🍺 Beer on Tap: Especially our pumpkin brûlée beer—perfect for those crisp fall afternoons.

This week's Monday Memory takes us back to one of our favorite new events from 2024, our Monthly Neighborhood Market! 🌟

Once a month, our farm was buzzing with energy as local vendors showcased their incredible handmade goods, food trucks served up mouthwatering treats, and live music filled the air. 🎶 The sense of community was truly unmatched, with friends, families, and neighbors coming together to shop, eat, and enjoy the evening.

We're kicking off our Monday Memory Series by looking back at one of our favorite moments from 2024—our Summer Spectacular petting zoo visit! 🐐🐰

Families gathered to meet our adorable animal guests, from bouncy baby goats to soft, cuddly bunnies. The smiles and laughter as kids fed and petted their new furry friends made it a day to remember! 🥰

2025 marks 99 incredible years of farming for our family farm! 🎉

In 1926, Dean's grandfather purchased this land, transforming it into a thriving hog farm. Fast forward nearly a century, and it has grown into the pumpkin patch we all love today.

20 years ago, we took a leap of faith, starting Colony Pumpkin Patch as a small honor system setup. We then began adding beloved features like the corn box and barrel train, and with your support, we’ve grown into the Colony Acres Family Farm you know today 🧡

From hogs to pumpkins, from generations past to present, we’re so grateful to celebrate this milestone with our amazing community ✨

Come with the whole family and experience 'A little country...in the city!' Grab a wagon, some clippers, your camera, and the kiddos and enjoy getting a 'little dirty' while on the hunt for the perfect fall decor or jack-o-lantern. We have a variety of sizes and shapes sure to satisfy everyone's needs. We have a variety of fun things to do for all ages like hayrack rides, play area, newly expanded 10 acre corn maze and are adding new things every year! It's the perfect thing to do on a nice fall day! See you at the patch!
