Meet Dixie, a sweet and loving Miniature Poodle who’s ready to find her forever home! Dixie came to us from a breeder in Missouri who was closing down. She was originally thought to be a 3-year-old Maltipoo, but after getting a proper bath and some TLC, we discovered she’s actually around 10 years old and a Miniature Poodle, not a Maltipoo! Her apricot-colored coat turned out to be white underneath, and although she arrived a bit scared and smelling less than fresh, she’s blossomed into the sweetest little companion.
Dixie has cataracts and doesn’t see well, but that doesn’t stop her from being incredibly social and affectionate. She loves being around people, and there’s nothing she enjoys more than hopping up on a lap for some pets and snuggles. She’s also a big fan of greeting everyone who enters her home with a wagging tail and a happy spirit.
Dixie is wonderful with other dogs and cats, and she's currently playing the role of a loving mother to the kittens in her foster home, allowing them to cuddle up with her. She would thrive in a home with another dog companion to keep her company and help her continue to build confidence.
This sweet girl is fully housetrained and is trusted to roam free when her foster family is out. She does need a bit of help with stairs—while she can manage a few steps, she can’t do a full flight on her own. Dixie would love a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors.
Dixie is a true gem: a gentle, affectionate dog with a big heart who is ready to bring joy to her new family. If you're looking for a cuddly, sweet companion who just needs a little extra love and care, Dixie may be the perfect fit for you!
Dixie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, microchipped and just had a dental.

We still have a couple of appointments in the next few days. If you are in need of grooming, contact us and we may be able to get you in this week.

Our bath special is on December 21; this will be a quick turnaround, and 10% discount. Only cash payments will be accepted on the 21st.

For anyone who cannot get in on a normal appointment and wishes to have their dog groomed before Christmas, we will be doing "emergency" grooming on December 24, however, this will be at double the normal rate. We would prefer not to work on the 24th, but we will in order to accommodate your needs.

The results of the Iowa City Press Citizen Best of the Best competition have been published to the web, and Messy Bitts took first place in Dog Grooming. Without all of our amazing customers, we would not have even made it to the finals, let alone being the number one groomer in the area.

!!! December Bath Special !!!

On December 21, we will have a bath special. This will include nail trimming and buffing/grinding, a**l gland check, and ear cleaning, and possible trimming of the face, feet, and sanitary area. Our goal is 1.5 hours or less for every dog who comes in, so it will be a short visit, unless your pet does not take the dryer well.

This is a CASH ONLY event, and we offer discounted pricing for the holidays.

Toenail Sunday is coming this Sunday!

Sunday, November 17, we will have our monthly toenail special from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The cost is $10.00, cash only, and no appointment is necessary. (You do not have to be an existing customer either.)

If you wish to bring a cat, we recommend you come late in the 3:00 hour, and it would be best to call first to make sure we do not have a lot of dogs in line. - (319) 350-1346 - Many cats don't do great with dogs they do not know, so we like to try to get them in separately to avoid any difficulties.
