We had a wonderful meeting on Monday July 8th. Larry Kichler (K-Bee Honey) and Peter Stuckey (Meadowcliff Honey) discussed different methods and tools used to extract honey.

Larry brought several larger pieces of equipment including a Honeybee evacuation stand (for removing bees from the supers), a decapping tank, and a 4 frame extractor.

As a bonus, watch this video of how Jeff Horchoff, with Saint Joseph Abbey, in Covington, LA extracts honey. What a great honey house they have.

Happy Earth Day! We hope you can take some time to take care of the planet that takes such great care of us! There are so many ways to do this:

•Plant natives in your garden or other outdoor spaces
•Pick up trash at your local park or in your neighborhood
•Grab a reusable water bottle instead of disposable plastic
•Spend time in your bee yard appreciating the some of the planet’s hardest workers—the honey bee🐝🐝🐝

I have/had one of these bucket warmers. I use it to warm up my buckets of honey to make it easier to put into a jar. However, I can't find it, which makes me thing I lent it to someone. Anyone know what happened to it?

The insulated Betterbee Honey Bucket Blanket features a patented heating element that warms and decrystallizes honey from the outside, without burning.

Spring is swarm season! To our bee-loving friends who aren’t beekeepers, this is a great time support honey bees AND your local beekeepers.

If you see a bee swarm:
1. Don’t be alarmed!
2. Don’t disturb them!
3. Let us know you have a swarm!

Swarming is a natural part in the lifecycle of a bee colony. These bees are typically very docile, but run the risk of not surviving. Your local beekeeper can create a favorable environment to help the colony thrive! Reach out if you have a swarm on your property and we can work to set you up with a local member to relocate the bees.
