Ok guys. Here's the story.
There's this guy named Duncan that is claiming to be a licensed veterinary technician offering different services for pets. At some point he was even claiming to have a veterinarian on staff which turned out to be false. Anyway, I also offer these services, and to be clear, this has nothing to do with competition or anything like that. I'm a firm believer that "everyone has a pet, there's more than enough business to go around" this is a PSA about him as a person. After reading some disturbing things about him and personally witnessing some unhinged behavior, I blocked him on both my personal page and my business page without ever speaking to him. This was about the end of January. Well, about 3 days ago, I received a text message from Duncan. The first thing he asked was if I was still in Arkansas and if i was still working. As a woman, I never answer these types of questions. Especially from random unhinged men. After a few different questions from him and vague answers from me, he told me "You should be kinder to bizarre strangers who randomly message you to insultingly ask you for advise 😉" and a few other things that made me uncomfortable (I have receipts on all of this info if you want it.) Including "try not to express your glands in my presence 😎😒🍆"
It turns out that he went to one of my clients houses (to service her pet) and asked about me. She never told him my name or any other information. He proceeded to go to her neighbors house (who was also a client) who is a woman in her 90s. He, again, asked about me under the ruse of "asking for advice about running a business" she gave him my information (I don't blame her or hold it against her in any way, this is on him) and when he couldn't find me on social media, due to being blocked, he reached out to me via text. After the uncomfortable message, I responded with "if you text me again I'll call the cops" he continued to message and try backtrack with some bs lies about not even knowing who I was. Even though he was actively seeking me out.
This message is not to "bash a small business" it is simply to bring awareness. Please please please be careful who you invite into your home. I'm not the only one who has experienced this with Duncan. But I really hope I'm the last.

I don't quite know where to go from here. I haven't actually contacted the police because I'm not sure what they can even do. I've taken down my "I'm in this area this week" type of posts and have also removed the advertisement for my business off my vehicle because JUST IN CASE, I dont want to advertise my location. If you have any advice on this more personal note, please let me know.
Also, since he's blocked, he can't see this, right?

Hey guys! I'm so sorry for not getting back to you all in a timely manner. Ive been dealing with some personal things and have had to put my phone down for a week or so. But don't worry! I'll be reaching out today!

On another note, I've got a favor to ask my clients. After recent events involving an unhinged individual seeking me out and harassing me, I'm asking my clients to only share my information with people you know and trust! Networking is the main way I get new clients and I REALLY appreciate when you share the business with your people! That being said, I had an individual seek out my information from a client and proceed to text message me asking business and personal things. When I let him down professionally, he lashed out in some disturbing messages and even after threatening police intervention, he continued.

I am a woman who meets strangers in their own home. I know the risks I am taking and have measures to keep myself safe. But it's still scary out here especially when something like this happens.

I will be putting this guy on blast soon and I ask that everyone reports him and his business. If you must use someone other than me, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE protect yourself and do the research before letting someone in your home! Be safe out there ladies and gents. The crazies are out and getting bolder every day!

Hey guys! There's something I've been meaning to post about but haven't had the time.
I am all for business competitors and feel that there are enough pets out there where we can all have enough clientele. If someone else meets your needs better than my services can, I completely understand and you won't hurt my feelings! But I would like to throw a few things out there so you can make informed decisions.
Ive recently heard that there are a couple people going around clipping pets nails and actually causing harm. Quicking pets on purpose (making them bleed) and telling people it's "normal" and "it will stop bleeding eventually".... it is, in fact NOT normal, it's pretty painful, and causes pets to have future issues. In one case, they cut so far down the toenail that it didn't grow back. I have NEVER seen that before. But here we are!
One more thing I'd like to say. There is someone going around claiming to be a LICENSED veterinary technician that is offering vaccines, exams, and other sketchy things. There are inconsistencies in his "education" time-line as well as ethical concerns. No LICENSED veterinary technician would ever in their right mind offer these things. And the "vaccines" he's giving have to be random tractor supply or equivalent vaccines which are not to be trusted with your furry babies. (Not going in to that now, but they're bad lol)
This is bordering "practicing without a license" and could potentially be very dangerous.
In closing, if you are looking for someone else, someone quicker, someone cheaper, please, PLEASE look into them first! Look at ACTUAL reviews. Talk to ACTUAL people, and DO NOT let them do anything medical on your pet.

For the holidays, I'm going to start making "pet care packages" to give out to our homeless community. I'm going to offer no charge nail trims and maintenance things to help out! If you would life to donate any lightly used collars, leashes, bowls, beds, etc. Please reach out! Winter is hard enough for our homeless, if we can help their companions even a little, it will make a difference!
