Hey ya all! Quick update we are finally up and going in montana in the back counrty! It got a little sketchy with the historic flood that came through clean up is on the very back side. I will be ready to get my hands back on your horses in the fall still looks like October for being back to utah and oklahoma. Miss you all and the horses! Much appreciation!

This horse came up lame back in June of 21 was pulled from roping blocked by vets and was unable to come up with anything. Last thought gave me a call. Cisco was sore in shoulder and off set in glute opposite side. 3 sessions and he is moving and acting better then he has in awhile! First video is from vet appt. Second is 4 days after first session. Last video is after 3rd session!

I encounter quite a few horse owners that prioritize pemf as a frequent therapy for their horse, while excluding massage. While I could easily make this a more controversial post 😜 let's just keep it light for today.

I believe that every horse reacts in their own specific way to each therapy, just like humans. Some may respond better to certain modalities than others. And while pemf may certainly have its place as a useful therapy among horses and people alike, I do believe that massage/bodywork is the glue that holds it all together... and here's why-

The horse has approximately 700 muscles that control movement with a fascial network to match. These muscles contract, lengthen, control movement, range of motion, strength etc. While many things have a role in the biomechanics of the horse, I think we can all agree that muscles are some pretty key players. When you think about what massage therapy targets, it is the muscles (and fascia of course).

🔹A tense muscle cannot build strength as efficiently as supple tissue.
🔹Restricted fascia WILL have a negative effect on the body.
🔹Muscles directly effect tendons, ligaments, bones and joints.
🔹Muscle tension often causes pain, then leading to behavioral issues (pain responses).

The list goes on and on..

Is pemf useful under the right circumstances? Sure, everything has its place. But to use this therapy in an attempt to adequately replace massage and soft tissue mobilization, is just not appropriate.

I encourage you to do your research to really learn the differences between the two therapies to determine what's best for your horse in the long run.

All my Oklahoma peeps! So say i would be in oklahoma mid February would any of you want to get your horses massaged or evaluated? Can set up 5 to 8 a day and do say a week or so there. Hey ya'll a little about me and the reasons why your horses will benefit from massage. First thank you for looking through and reading. My name is Magen Smith I honestly was at a dead end job i didn't enjoy and was wanting a out. Something I knew I would enjoy and see more as a enjoyment then a job. I found Beverly Brady owner of Midwest Natural Healing for Animals. Did my research and found that her school is highly recognized and sought out. So I committed and got certified. My love and passion for horses has been around since i was a little girl. Owning a few of my own and loving to help others with their own mounts just added fuel to the fire. Watching these horses go from tight not moving or feeling their best to a horse that can finally move out in a unified stride and back to winning or being the partner they once where is amazing. From the first evaluation and getting to know the horse to the first massage then being able to help each person be a partner with their horse. Getting a call that has sooo much excitement that they once again made the top they shaved 3 seconds off there run is what i love to hear! Or the hey we just rode 12 miles with no lameness and we havent done over 5 miles in over a year. Reconnect, Rebalance, Rebuild. From the skeletal system to the overall health of the body.
