Made a walk around video of an install this last weekend that shows some good features of my large chicken coop systems. The nesting box blocker board helps when wanting to block it for a couple nights if the hens start getting in a bad habit of sleeping in there beyond just being broody. This also features metal roof on the 7x8 run and bottom 2' of the run and under the coop done in 1/2" hardware cloth for added longevity and predator prevention.

Another great day to get some new coops installed for customers in Holland and Hamilton! I might want warmer temperatures to come, but the silver lining is cooler weather does make chicken coop installs less physically exhausting!

We had a blast giving a chicken flock and coop system tour to students from Innovate Learning Center from Muskegon, who visited the workshop today to talk all about chickens and their habits and caretaking needs. The students had some great questions and were able to meet lots of chickens, and see and learn about different breeds.

The trailers are loaded as coops are rolling out to be installed this week!

Today we had a customer’s chicken want to start using the nesting box within 1 min of adding the new straw to the new coop. Talk about intuitive! We had to take a photo of her :)

New large chicken coops ready for pick up with more being made! $620

25sq/ft inside. Great for 5-15 hens! Comes with chicken ladder, 3 nesting boxes, 1 large seasonal side air-flow vent, and 1 roost (+$5 for additional roosts, up to 3 per coop). ¾” thick BCX plywood on all sides, 4x4 treated legs, and 2’ off ground. You can pick which side you want the nesting box mounted. Extra 6’ roosts available upon request.

I find myself getting my phone out and taking photos when something seems cool or interesting to me. It’s been happening a lot lately with my chickens.

With the hens feeling spring is coming, they’ve started getting busy :) They love their nesting boxes!
