The Town of Surfside Beach will host the annual Surfside Beach Family Festival on Saturday, October 5, 2024. This event attracts thousands of people who come for good food, good fun, and family-friendly activities.

This festival will feature:

Activities for children
Two Stages of Live Entertainment

👀 This viewpoint might ruffle some feathers. 👀

You HAVE to stop leaving dog waste in your yard or shared community spaces.

Dog waste can easily harbor unknowns such as viruses, bacteria, and worms. Especially if you live in an apartment complex or community area with a large dog population. These problems don't just go away and your dog's waste doesn't just disappear either. It can linger for months causing sickness in other dogs such as giardia and other GI related illnesses.

Since it lingers, each time it rains, this contaminated waste spreads to our stormwater drainage and into water sources harming aquatic life. The same water sources we boat, swim, and fish in.😳

So please pick up your dog waste as soon as possible to reduce the chance of spreading disease to other dogs, people, and our environment.

This is a perfect reminder of why your yard MUST be maintained for our technicians to perform our recurring scoop service.

I came within 1 foot of stepping on this juvenile copperhead today. Hurricane Helene, of course, is stirring up the wildlife, but our safety is the priority.

Of course, a maintained yard is subjective, and it is our field technicians who make the final call on whether a yard is serviced or not.

Stay safe in the aftermath of the storm, and keep an eye on your yards while your pets are out and about until things dry up.

4 years ago, my wife and I relocated to the Grand Strand, and right away we noticed a dog waste problem in our parks and residential yards while out on walks.

The pet waste problem is so large we felt we had to do something about it. In 2021, Coastal P**per Scooper, LLC was born.

Since then, we've removed over 30,000 lbs. of dog waste from Coastal Horry County.

This is a huge deal as this waste was removed from multi-family properties, watersheds, and yards draining into natural water sources, reducing or preventing the spread of disease between dogs and humans too.

We're only getting started. This year we've grown, adding a new field technician and truck to the road. Our goal is simple. To create clean and waste-free outdoor spaces and prevent contamination of our properties and water sources.
