The farm got snow! Some areas got 3 inches others got 6 inches. The farm has warming stations and we put bird seed out to help the birds. Dog foot prints in the snow 1/22/2025.

WEATHER****FREEZING TEMPERATURES****

The weather channel is calling for snow, ice and freezing temperatures in states and areas that typically do NOT get this type of weather. This has been stated across social media and TV for about two weeks so there is no reason why anyone is NOT prepared to bring outside animals inside! Prepare your farm animals, bring dogs and cats inside or have the APPROPRIATE heated outdoor shelter for them including feral cats.

!!!!FREEZING TO DEATH IS EXTREMELY PAINFUL!!!!

If you see a dog, cat or ANY animal outside without the appropriate shelter to keep it warm and alive CALL YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL and repeat call if needed as we know some AC officers don't care (sadly but true). Give them the exact address/location of the animal, type of animal and what you see, take a picture if you can. If you are traveling have water, treats, blankets, towels slip leads anything you can carry in your vehicle to assist if you are able too.

REMEMBER: If you SEE something SAY something you could be saving a life!

We are sending prayers for a speedy recovery for Ralphie. His story began in 2016, we received a call from the shelter regarding a family owner surrender of 2 dogs, we agreed to accept them Loki and Starr (Ralphie's brother & sister from another litter after him) Ralphie was already committed to another rescue as well as their Chihuahua mom which we transported her to her rescue. The day after we picked up Loki and Starr we got another call from the shelter asking if we could accept Ralphie because his rescue never showed up for him. We immediately went to the shelter to get him. A long story short Loki and Starr were adopted but Ralphie had no adopters but Karen the founder of our rescue adored Ralphie so she adopted him. Coming forward two weeks ago Ralphie had a dental cleaning and his Vet checked his ear as it was bothering him again. Two years ago he had a polyp removed but this time Ralphie's ear was much more than 1 polyp. He had surgery last week to open his ear up and removed a mass. Karen said she is waiting to hear the results from the biopsy and that Ralphie is doing very well. We know Ralphie is in good care with Karen and his Vet. We are praying for good test results and speedy recovery. We love you Ralphie!

If you need to evacuate your horses, Jacob Deutsch has his 10-horse trailer hitched and standing by. No Charge. He is wanting to help however he can.
Jacob Deutsch: We have space for 60 horses in Bridle Path Simi Valley and room for all other animals as well if you need a safe place 310-893-9337 our whole neighborhood is hosting.

Our hearts and prayers are with California's wildlife and all animals, we continue to hold off on transports until things improve from the winter weather and now the west coast fire. We will pull together and build villages to help everywhere we can, we ask that you do the same. North Carolina still needs assistance in healing from a few months ago and now the snow. These places will need pet food, water, blankets, towels, cleaning supplies, help with vetting and more. Keep kindness alive and help out where you can. ❤

We put a hold on all transports starting this past Friday. We will remain on hold until further notice of improved and safe roads. At this time we are in blue status meaning emergency status only. Please be safe everyone when helping animals in these weather conditions!

We are watching the big storm to arrive with very cold temperatures with ice and snow for the east coast. We will hault all travels/transports per our safety protocol until it is safe to travel. Updates to come as we move closer to the bad weather timeframe.

On August 7, 2024, Terry Pegues was arrested and charged with 10 counts of animal cruelty and held on a $75,000 bond over dead and dying dogs found on his property.

Within days, there was a public outcry calling for the arrest of Charlotte Fant-Pegues, who is vice chancellor of student affairs at the University of Mississippi. On September 9, she turned herself in and was released on a $75,000 bond. A grand jury has since indicted them both.

Every year Karen puts up a tree to honor all the animals. The tree vine Angel to the purple lights with all kinds of different ornaments like bees, butterflies, elephants, dogs, cats, pigs, frogs, kangaroos, moose and more. There is a rainbow color garland in the tree and several ornaments with pet's names on them. Karen said, "it's the last thing I put up and the last thing I take down. It means the most to me, the purple lights and green are for my sweet Shannon. She was a great friend and foster. She would love this tree. She keeps watch over us from heaven."

Our hope and prayers are that all animals know love.
