On August 7, 2024, Terry Pegues was arrested and charged with 10 counts of animal cruelty and held on a $75,000 bond over dead and dying dogs found on his property.

Within days, there was a public outcry calling for the arrest of Charlotte Fant-Pegues, who is vice chancellor of student affairs at the University of Mississippi. On September 9, she turned herself in and was released on a $75,000 bond. A grand jury has since indicted them both.

Every year Karen puts up a tree to honor all the animals. The tree vine Angel to the purple lights with all kinds of different ornaments like bees, butterflies, elephants, dogs, cats, pigs, frogs, kangaroos, moose and more. There is a rainbow color garland in the tree and several ornaments with pet's names on them. Karen said, "it's the last thing I put up and the last thing I take down. It means the most to me, the purple lights and green are for my sweet Shannon. She was a great friend and foster. She would love this tree. She keeps watch over us from heaven."

Our hope and prayers are that all animals know love.

Please share your pet trees or decorations or a picture of your pet ready for Christmas! Spread the happiness! πŸ’œ

Our hearts and prayers are with his family and friends. Praying for a speedy recovery for the 2 dogs who survived. Fly high at the Rainbow Bridge for the dog that did not survive. The world lost a kind soul and a hero. Forever grateful for all the transports and the love he had for saving animals. Fly high in heaven our friend! ❀🌈

They need a forever home with loving humans! They are fully vaccinated, neutered/spayed. Milo (dog) gets along great with other dogs and cats, loves walks and car rides. The cats are sweet and playful. Transport is available! Message me for more details.

They are in foster care and have been for awhile. They really need to start their new journey in their new forever homes. They are from separate situations and are not in the same foster, sharing as a group only.

Health updates: Buddy Creek is doing very well with his heartworm treatment and Noelle Snow has fully recovered from eye removal surgery. Both are amazing dogs. "Their ability to heal and quickly adapt to their new changes is remarkable" says Karen. Noelle is her dog and Buddy is a rescue dog in her care. "We do good things together, we do everything we can at RTWC and we will continue to rise up to help as much as we can." -Karen
