The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach HSNMB is a No-Kill shelter that finds permanent and loving homes for abandoned animals in NMB.

The Humane Society of NMB is located in downtown North Myrtle Beach, SC. Our mission is to find permanent, loving, "forever" homes for homeless cats and dogs in the North Myrtle Beach area, as well as to provide spay/neuter clinics and education about pet care and the importance of spaying/neutering your pets. Volunteers of all ages are the backbone of our organization, and we appreciate all the h

Animals will be held for five days to allow an owner time to reclaim them. Wild cats; vicious dogs imposing a safety threat to shelter workers or visitors; badly injured, sick, or suffering animals requiring extensive treatment; and animals with highly contagious or fatal diseases are exempt from the five day impoundment, however. After the hold period, pending medical and behavioral assessment, animals may be available for adoption. All adoptions are on a first come - first serve basis. HSNMB is located at 409 Bay Street North Myrtle Beach. Please call the shelter at 843-249-4948 if you recognize these animals.

Elsa’s journey to her forever home is one of patience, love, and transformation.

Growing up in the woods, Elsa had little exposure to humans and was incredibly shy around people. However, her love for other dogs was undeniable, and she thrived in their company.

In the fall, Elsa’s life changed forever. Joe and his family met her at one of our adoption events. Despite her timid nature, they saw her gentle spirit and knew she was meant to be part of their family. Understanding her special needs, they approached her with kindness and patience, earning her trust little by little.

Since her adoption, Elsa has completely blossomed. The pup who once avoided cars now enjoys going for long rides. Her favorite outings include trips to the dog park, where she joyfully reunites with her canine friends.

Joe recently shared, “I cannot thank you enough for keeping Elsa safe for us. As you may notice from the picture on my office sofa, she’s a bit spoiled these days.”
